What shampoo/conditoiner will straighten out my wavy hair as I wash it?

I have shoulder length hair and it is so wavy. what s/c brand can I use that will straighten it? like almost pin point, but suave sleek look doesn't work. it is suposed to work like Matrix but doesnt. What shampoo/conditoiner will straighten out my wavy hair as I wash it?
Honestly, none. Some may help a little with frizz, but that's about it. To get your hair straightened, you have to use a blow dryer or straightening iron. What shampoo/conditoiner will straighten out my wavy hair as I wash it?
There is none. Some will help tone down the frizz, but in order for you to straigten your curls you either have to have it chemically done or use a flat iron.
pantene is the best

  • Can I use a protein shampoo all the time?

I like Frederick Fekkai's protein shampoo but don't know if it is bad for my hair. I know that too much protein can damage your hair.. so can I use this every other day?Can I use a protein shampoo all the time?
I don't know. I would read the bottle for directions. If it says not to use everyday, then I would not use it everyday.

Is the dove go fresh shampoo okay for color treated hair?

It doesn't say on the bottle...

So does anyone know?Is the dove go fresh shampoo okay for color treated hair?
    If it doesn't say anywhere on the bottle that it is safe for color treated hair... then it's not safe for it. Most shampoos I've seen will at least have it printed on the back ';safe for color treated hair.';

What is a really great Shampoo & Conditoner?

I am having a really difficult time with my hair. It is extremly think, and possibly dyed one too many time! I am getting a lot of spilt ends also. I just want a Shampoo %26amp; Conditoner that will make my hair feel clean without overdrying or making it too greasy feeling. Something that smells great too! Right now I am using; Tigi, Bed Head Self Absorbed. What is a really great Shampoo %26amp; Conditoner?
LADIES AND GENTLEMEN PANTENE IS NOT THE BEST PRODUCT OUT THERE

do you know how much shine spray and lighting they put on whatever model they are using for that particular pantene commercial? AAAAAALLLLLLOOOOOOTTTTTT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!鈥?give you the illusion that you will have perfect hair when you use their product. not going to happen

the thorn in a stylist's side is pantene

pantene will build up on the hair and create a barrier against any product

this then prevents the products from getting to the medula (the inner parts of the cuticle)

I reccomend that you not change your shampoo and conditioner too often (if you find something you like stick with it)

use a clarifying shampoo (for build up) at least twice a month.

get a trim every 6-8 weeks

get a leave in conditioner just for your ends

questions to you- are you aware that Redken just came out with the Chemistry System

its a deep conditioning system that can be tailored to your specific problem.

any Hair Cuttery Salon will have it.

as for the greasy feeling stop putting the conditioner directly on your scalp doing this too much can make your hair worse.

have you tried the Matrix Sleek line? (orange packaging) makes your hair feel silky and smooth, smells pretty good too, not too overwhelming

good luckWhat is a really great Shampoo %26amp; Conditoner?
    try pantene pro-v
    I like Redkin,Paul Mitchell %26amp; Nexxus...all conditioning and hydrating
    Pantene and Sunsilk...........
Find a salon wherever you live that carries top of the line products. Matrix. Paul Mitchell, Goldwell. Aveda has their own salons so they are the very top. See what your stylist recommends too ,she should know your hair. Just going by what you say maybe you should try the Matrix ';Sleek Looks'; buy the whole system though. It works well when you do. There is another product that I absolutely love for split ends...';Ego boost'; by Bed Head. If you straighten your hair with an iron get a CHI iron they cause less damage. After you have put the ego boost in your hair and dried it when you get to the ends, slow down a LITTLE as you are pulling the iron over the hair. The product will seal the ends together until the next time you wash it. It is wonderful! You will love it!

If you haven't been to a professional in a long time, please, start going. Get your self a healthy cut to begin with and keep split ends at bay by trimming every 4-6 weeks...depending on how you treat your hair. Have deep conditioners done every 2-3 weeks until you have your hair back in shape. Then you can cut down to once every 4-6 weeks.
sorry it's not a ';salon'; product (why waste all that money??) but its called Infusium 23, its about $5.50 for each bottle. is that expensive enough for you? even my hair dresser reccommends it and I don't go to Bo-rics.
Hi i would suggest you go in for a shampoo that is made from natural products than those that contain more of chemicals... any shampoo that contains lime, henna, shikakai, etc... are good for hair... henna is a good conditioner too... my suggestions pertain to pretty young Indian women... i am sorry if you aren't an Indian!! Indian women have beautifully glowing black hair that adds to their beauty...
Herbal Essenses Rose with rose conditioner.
try pps conditioner and shampoo in hydra lite... i used this because i straighten my hair alot and it was totally damaged now even though i dont use pantene and never have my hair is like the pantene adds..he he another good one is karastase its the best ever i still use the shine oil....expensive but they work...

good luck i know the feeling of wanting the hair you used to have come back he he :P
first get ur hair trimmmed and then dont use harsh shampoos like pantene which has lot of chemicals so go for a herbal shampoo and conditioner which are made of natural ingredients .massage ur hair with warm oils like olive, almond, coconut one hour before shampoo this really gives ur hair a very healthy look

    Good luck
You should use the shampoo taht's the best for your hair. try different ones and see which ones the best!
try cream of nature.if you have a sally hair supply store they carry it.
I like Biolage myself. It smells really good!

To be honest I worked with hair stylists (and they were pricey too) and they would sell the more expensive stuff, but would use VO5 which is super cheap. The shampoo and conditioner will not really make your hair damaged. It is all the dying that will. Use a hair serum for frizzy hair to make it look healthier.
    try:

Mane 'n tail shampoo and conditioner...it sounds really strange but it is the best shampoo and conditioner everrr...you can get it at CVS.

I also like redken products though you have to buy them at a salon but they have a bunch of combinations and kinds to use for different types of hair.

Hoping for more answers: Is shampoo for highlighted hair a must if you have highlighted hair?

Shampoo/conditioner for highlighted hair - is it necessary for people with highlighted hair? And, if it is, can ya'll give me some good brands that I can get at the local CVS for under $15?Hoping for more answers: Is shampoo for highlighted hair a must if you have highlighted hair?
I would recommend using a shampoo for lightened hair if the water in your home is hard water or is treated with chlorine. Hard water can cause highlights to turn brassy and water treated with chlorine can turn it green. Sally Beauty Supply carries quite a few brands--Clairol Shimmer Lights is probably your best bet (it smells really bad, though). L'Oreal Professional also makes one that I really like called Nature's Therapy Color Confidence Blonde Brightening Shampoo and Conditioner.

P.S. The Nature's Therapy stuff smells really good.Hoping for more answers: Is shampoo for highlighted hair a must if you have highlighted hair?
Shampoo for H/L is not a must, but you have to use a shamppo that is made for color treated hair. WHoever H/L your hair should have given yo a prescription for proper care. Stop being a do-it-yourselfer and do what you need to do to take care of yourself.
Not a must but to keep your hair healthy I would atleast use a cood conditioner and try shampoo for color treated hair.

Shampoos for color-treated hair are gentler and less apt to strip out the color.

Talk to your stylist about the best shampoos for you.
Of course not. The hair police are not going to come and arrest you if you don't use it.

There are very few ';CVS'; brands that I would personally use, but a few of them are Aussie, Citre Shine, or other naturally based non-animal tested products. My personal preference for under $15 is any Aveda shampoo or conditioner.
    It's a good idea, not a must.

I use Pantene's Blonde Expressions Daily Color Enhancing Shampoo %26amp; Conditioner, Platinum Blonde to Sand Dune. My highlights are the lightest available by Clairol so this version works well for me. There are others available %26amp; you can choose the best one for your hair. In the source below is the link too. I pay about $6 for each, shampoo %26amp; conditioner, less than $15 total, including tax at Wal-Mart. I've also bought it on occasion at Target, similar pricing.

    Hope that helps your choices.
Its not a must. But i would use some highlights shampoo for the frist like 5 times after you get highlights. Then use regular shampoo. Use nice n' easy highlights shampoo and conditioner. im not sure the price, but it works well.
If you have any color in your hair you need a shampoo/conditioner for color treated hair. The only brand that I would recomemend getting at CVS or any store would be Nexxus, because they used to be only sold in salons.Your are much better off going to a salon and getting the shampoo/conditioner because they quality is better and will last you much longer than getting the stuff at the drug stores for $5 dollars for both and have to run out and buy more in a month. Also if you have thick hair try Joico silk results for coarse/thick hair its good for color treated hair, has protein in it.

What is a good Dandruff Shampoo for black people?

I have Dandruff like crazy and was wondering was there any good dandruff shampoo's for black people?!

I Really Appreciate All Your Answers =]What is a good Dandruff Shampoo for black people?
I would say try head and shoulders. Best dandruff shampoo. What is a good Dandruff Shampoo for black people?
There is a difference between dandruff shampoos for black and white people. Like stated in one of the comments we can not ( well no one really should anyway) wash their hair everyday. Its just not healthy. and when we relax and color our hair there are certain chemicals that would not favor. . . Report Abuse

What does your race have to do with it?

Selsun Blue or Head and Shoulders
    try selsem blue
For everyone who thinks that race has no factor in it, you are wrong. Get educated before you think ';a scalp is just a scalp.'; Black people cannot wash their hair every day unless they have a natural hair style. Plus having course hair is a pain after washing. I should know I went natural for almost 2yrs.

From my personal experience, Selsum blue worked at one time. Now it doesn't. Head and Shoulders never worked. At this time, I am still trying to find a good dandruff shampoo. I have even tried Selsum Blue Salon ( or whatever the name of it is). For the most part, keep this factor in mind. The shampoo is not the only thing that you should be worried about. Keep you scalp ( not just hair itself) moisturized between shampoos.
    head and shoulders

btw if your black how come your avatar is tan?
Use Head %26amp; Shoulders.. It's for all types of hair..
head and shoulders or selsum blue

it doesn't matter if you're black or white
yea...i don't think there's a difference when it comes to that...you can try any dandruff shampoo. I personally have never seen any dandruff shampoo geared towards black people...either that or go to the hair dresser.

and to the guy above me, it doesn't matter if her avatar is tan, she can still be black. Beautiful black people come in all colors, if you didn't know that...not all of them have to be dark... :-
    |head and shoulders isn't really good for black people's hair, it dries it out so try something like neutrogena T-Gel or selsum blue ;D
Is there a difference between dandruff shampoo for black people and white people? I'd say Head and Shoulders or Selsun Blue are your best bets.
I have the same problem, so bad that I went to a dermatologist. Found out the condition is called Seborrhea Dermatitis, a condition common in Black skin. It is the over-production of oil, and the pores become clogged; producing dandruff. My face even became infected with it, causing dry patches and discoloration. I've tried every over-the-counter dandruff shampoo, and none of them worked for very long. The most effective I found is Glover's Medicated in the white bottle; not the yellow one. It can be found in most beauty supply stores, Walgreen's %26amp; CVS drugstores. If you can get to a dermatologist they will give you a scrip for shampoo that will have either scalacylic acid or sulfur or tar, and they may give you a cream for your face. If your scalp is very irritated you may get an oil to lift the build-up of your scalp (it's called derma-smooth). Hope this helps. And, yes there are differences between black skin and other ethnic groups. And, vice versa, it's just a fact of nature. BTW, the last thing you want to do is put oil (grease) on your scalp; this will only make the problem worse. You can moisturize your hair, but please don't put it directly on your scalp.
Danduff Shampoo is for white people

the conditioner will build up on your hair and make it dull and weighed down!!!What happens if I wash my hair with just conditioner and no shampoo?
i would think it will still be dirty and conditoner will just make it gummy.. if your out of shampoo, use a little bit of dish soap..
its not good for your hair..... itll make it dry and brittle if you dont use shampoo :(
    it will get oily
your hair will be greasier then when you started !
The same thing that happens when you wash clothes with no detergent just fabric softner. They are soft but not clean.
It depends on the texture of your hair and your ethnicity..

Lots of natural (no relaxer) african american women do this method called the no-poo (no shampoo) as shampoo can be very drying to natural/nappy hair.

However if you don't fit that bill (coarse, kinky, natural, extra curly) i'd suggest using shampoo.
    wat kurt said!

I have the same problem except it's worse for me I go take a bath EVERY frigging DAY.

I use Clear it's fine.and once I asked the same question here are the results:

Aussie Root Cleanser + Tip Mender....Its AMAZING

if your british then look out for the shampoo at the bottom of this page: http://www.herbal-essences.co.uk/product鈥?/a>

if your american then look out for this: http://www.herbalessences.com/us/collect鈥?/a>

couldn't find one for greasy hair, but it hydrates your hair!!

A clarifying shampoo would work, because it doesn't have very moisturizing qualities. You do still want to follow up with a conditioner, but you may want to stay away from cream conditioners and use a spray in/leave in. Most of them are very light weight and non-greasy.

Volumizing shampoo/conditioner would help as well, provided that your hair is straight and not colored (although they do make some volumizing shampoo/conditioners for colored hair, such as Matrix Amplify Color XL) Otherwise most volumizing shampoo/conditioner can make your hair color wash out faster. You also don't want to use volumizing sham/cond if your hair is permed or naturally curly, because you could go to the opposite end of the spectrum and end up with frizzy UNDER-moisturized hair, which isn't good either.

I would stay away from Pantene (and a lot of store bought, over the counter shampoos/conditioners) and switch to salon products. Pantene (and a lot of other ';OTC'; products) are wax-based, and that can build up on your hair over time and contribute to your problem rather than help it. Plus many have an extremely high alcohol content, which can cause the opposite problem of TOO dry of hair.

Hope this helps you! Good luck!

I would try Panteen Pro-V. It seems to work on a lot of hair types. Just make sure you scrub your hair good and use conditioner! Can anyone recomend a good shampoo for oily hair?
You should try putting a little bit of baby powder in it. A big bottle cost about a dollar anywhere, and it really helps. Just dab some onto your scalp, and rub it in, and it will soak up the oils right then and there. you should really try it! good luck!
I have the same exact problem and I use the pink bottle of loreal vive and it works awesome. My hair doesn't get oily like that and it smells really good.
I use Aussie for thin or oily hair or alberto V05, but I have the same problem, the solution: wash your hair every day. Oily hair that smells dirty is nasty.
Head and shoulders has a whole new line of shampoos and conditioners for different hair types. Also, no longer are they exclusively used for people with dandruff.
    TGEL the stuff is awsome

    Anything with oatmeal

When using mane and tail shampoo should you use the conditoner too?

when using it to see the full effect on your hair should you use the conditoner too or can you use a different one or not even use one? When using mane and tail shampoo should you use the conditoner too?
Usually in the back of shampoo bottles, it reads ';for better results use the conditioner'; or something around those lines. So I guess if you REALLY want to know the full effect you should try the conditioner too. But, I don't really know maybe they just say that so you buy more stuff. Just try the shampoo by itself see how your hair feel if you like it great if you don't, try the conditioner. When using mane and tail shampoo should you use the conditoner too?
well if you had to use it use both for the full effect , but if you don't have to use it , use this shampoo and conditioner that has lemongrass
Yes, I've found that it works best with the conditioner. :)

Is there some type of shampoo I can use on my dog?

other than a brand for dogs. Would I be able to use regular human shampoo on my dog or do I need a dog only type? I have a golden retriever. Is there some type of shampoo I can use on my dog?
If your golden got tree sap in his coat. Try peanut butter!! This y works really well to take the sap out.....To help cut the pine stickies, use Dawn or aother grease cutter dish soap..Add 1/4 cup of any vinegar or lemon juice to the last gallon of rinse water ..

You can use any human bar soap or shampoo if you rinse with the lemon or vinegar mixture..It takes away the nice sweet smell of shampoo, but it restores the skin to the proper PH for canine skin..

Otherwise you are risking the dry skin dandruff or itching..Is there some type of shampoo I can use on my dog?
omg. this is funny. i hate dog shampoo it sucks. i use human shampoo on my dog and it works amazing. try V05. it smells sooo good and lasts for days. try not to put more conditioner than shampoo though. there skin gets dried out easily.

    hope this helps
Use Mane and Tail - Specially formulated for humans and animals
Until you get dog shampoo, use baby shampoo but dilute it with water.
You can use baby or kid shampoo i.e. no tear formula. It doesn't matter which brand as long as it is a no tear formula.
johnsons baby shampoo. Or the horse shampoo might be better because you have a large dog.
    pantene for blondes
it isnt recommened because the ph levels are different in humans than in dogs...so u do need to stick with a dog shampoo for your dog...Best wishes %26amp; God bless!
Never use human shampoo on dogs. The ph is wrong. Also with a golden you are going to want some kind of creme rinse to detangle that long hair.
I used to always use baby shampoo for mine.
im sure you could use a baby shampoo why not?
i was infomed by a guy in my english class that head and shoulders is a good dog shampoo, dont really know the details on that one though.
Use only oatmeal based shampoo for you dog. Found at Pet Smart.
I would just use a dog shampoo only, human shampoos may not be as effective as dog shampoos. If you are worried about price,I am sure there are some discountable pet stores you could check out.
they make dog shampoo...go to your local pet store and ask about it...

Are you supposed to dilute shampoo before you use it?

I am having this war with somebody I know.. She INSISTS that shampoo is diluted with water before you use it, I say nuh-uh. If it had to be diluted with water it would say so on the bottle. I know your hair has to be wet but she will actually put the shampoo in the water 50/50 and mix it..Are you supposed to dilute shampoo before you use it?
no you dont have to dilute shampoo before you use it as the water needed to make the shampoo work is already on your hair xAre you supposed to dilute shampoo before you use it?
you only do that when you're running out of shampoo and your hair is really dirty, other way you just get a small amount in your hand and put it on your wet hair!

Maybe she's a compulsive money saver!
I think you are right, get your hair wet, put the shampoo on your head, scrub it around, if it is too dry then splash some more water up there, scrub some more then rinse. Done.
all you have to do is wet your hair haha

Does Pantene Prov Beautiful Lengths Shampoo actually make your hair grow?

I have it and im just wondering.Does Pantene Prov Beautiful Lengths Shampoo actually make your hair grow?
I'm using that shampoo right now. It isn't making my hair grow at all, haha. But it IS making it healthy, have less split ends, etc. The shampoo is really nice smelling, too.

Too bad it doesn't actually make my hair grow...

    Oh well.

:(Does Pantene Prov Beautiful Lengths Shampoo actually make your hair grow?
To be honest,no product can make your hair grow faster, but they can make it grow healthier. To make your hair grow faster you must take care of it,drink plenty of water, use a heat activated conditioner to prevent breakage, minimize your heat use, make sure its moisturized(when you get a perm, try using one that has moisturizer built in to it.)and even getting a deep conditioning every once in a while. But,don't let it get to the point where its greasy, that as well can retard hair growth.
it doesn't exactly make your hair grow.

its designed to give back all the oils and nutrients your hair needs, when your hair is healthy it grows much faster, that the reason people get trims every few months, split ends are ';unhealthy'; hair.
Not really ive used it and i noticed a little bit of length like a centimetre after 3 weeks.
i dont think it makes your hair grow faster, it just helps you avoid split ends so that your hair will look longer.
probably not i think it just keeps your hair strong and healthy so you don't have to cut the split ends as often. :)
    nope.

my bangs didnt grow when i had it

    :p

If you change your dogs shampoo, will it's hair get softer?

I have a labradoodle and his hair gets really soft, but you have to comb him for 1+ hours. Is there a certain kind of dog shampoo that makes a dogs hair softer? If you change your dogs shampoo, will it's hair get softer?
I swear by Aloveen shampoo and conditioner! It's an oatmeal and aloe dog shampoo and conditioner and I love it. Try it on your lab x poodle, I use it on my poodle cross rescue and it makes her coat lovely. Dont use human shampoo and/or conditioner! If you change your dogs shampoo, will it's hair get softer?
You can buy a doggie conditioner.

Try a conditioner just like you use conditioner for your hair.
No unless you want to poison it

Can i give my guinea pig a bath with my everyday shampoo?

she stinks sooooo bad! but i was woried that it would hurt her.Can i give my guinea pig a bath with my everyday shampoo?
I would say no, since you are not supposed to use Human shampoo on dogs. I would check with your vet. Even the Pet Stores might beable to tell you how to bath your guinea pig. Do you keep the guinea pig beding clean? Can i give my guinea pig a bath with my everyday shampoo?
No, do not give her a bath with your everyday shampoo, this will dry out the oil in her skin, and may harm her. I used to have a male guinea pig named Oreo, and when he needed a bath, we went and bought a little bottle that squirts guinea pig shampoo. So just buy that at a local petshop, and while she is out running around a bedroom or whatever, squirt some on her and pet her to rub in it with your hand. Do not apply the shampoo while in the cage, because the cage odor will cling to her shampoo scent. I hope i helped! :)

I still have my shampoo bottle for him, mine is called QUICK AND CLEAN, it says on it instant shampoo, tearless baby powder. And it says on the front you do not have to rince bath your guinea pig. Incase this helps, info on the back says it will,

';specially formulated no-rince shampoo will gently loosen dirt, dissolve oils and deodorize youyr pet's skin and coat, leaving your furry friend smelling as fresh as a baby.

    -non-orritating leave on formula

    -long lasting baby powder scent

    -eliminates odors

    -simple to use.

    :) good luck!!
I recommend baby shampoo it does wonders for a shiny coat.

Tips on drying - towel dry they in the summer get as much of the coat dry and yes keep them warm. And in the winter you can blow-dry them to keep them warm but make sure the dryer is constantly moving across their bodies, if you keep it in one spot you can burn their skin just like us. They may be a little squeamish the first time you use a blower. but they should get used to it.
    Hi!

You can use scentless baby shampoo, because that works gently on the skin.

Or you can buy specially made Guinea Pig Shampoo and Sprays at PetsMart.

    Here is the link: http://www.petsmart.com/product/index.js…

I prefer using the Guinea Pig Shampoo.

If you ever just want to quickly clean your Guinea Pig, but not get him all wet and soapy you can use this,

The Critter-Wipes will clean off any dirt on his fur.

I wouldn't give her a bath everyday. Try once a month. If you are concerned about the smell, why not try brushing her fur once a day? You could probably use Johnson and Johnson Baby Shampoo, as long as you remeber to keep it away from her eyes, nose and mouth and wash it out thouroghly. Try to change her bedding once or twice a week. Call your vet for deets.
Yes, you can. She should have a bath once a month to avoid mites and skin irritations. Be sure to towel-dry her as much as you can and keep her warm until she's dry. Avoid getting water into her ears as this can lead to other problems. Just be calm and gentle with her and she'll enjoy the bath :-)
If its an organic low scent shampoo, then it will probably be fine for your cavies, just make sure you read whats in the shampoo and maybe do some research to make sure its not toxic =)

I found this website it said that you can use human shampoo, I didn't read too much into it but here it is =)

    http://www.guineapigsclub.com/gp_site/gr…
No, you can't. You need to use a milder shampoo, like the ones made for kittens. Make sure you wash her with warm water and dry her immediately. Don't get any water on her face or in her ears, and don't wash her more than once every few months.
your suppose to use dog or cat shampoo that doesn't have extra stuff like flea or tick stuff in it.
You could use baby shampoo, or you can get guinea pig shampoo that smells kind of like baby powder from the pet store, I wouldn't use average adult shampoo incase it irritated it's skin or got in it's eyes
its not a good idea, instead use johnsons small animal shampoo or something from the pet shop because everyday shampoo has alot of chemicals in .
use soft (mild) soap, that isn't sented.

use warm water and gently towel-dry

    don't use your hairdryer

make sure you clean her cage daily to keep the smell away

    good luck =)
DON'T DO IT!!! Trust me, their skin is really sensitive. I tried it once and my guinea pig had an allergic reaction.
    Ask the vet before!

  • Is there a hair dye that I can use like a shampoo and it would lighten my hair color?

I want my hair to be like a sweedish blonde but I have a friend who used wash in shampooish like hair color treatments which eventually got her hair red, what are these treatments, where can i get them and do they even exist. If not whats the best way to dye my hair blondish and not ruin it.Is there a hair dye that I can use like a shampoo and it would lighten my hair color?
You can use a hair rinse that's a lighter color. It goes on like shampoo. After you wash your hair a few times the color comes out and your natural color will remain. That's a good idea if you're not quite sure what color you're looking for. You can try different rinses until you find the right color and then you can dye your hair. Dye is permanent. Is there a hair dye that I can use like a shampoo and it would lighten my hair color?
not sure about shampoo but i know you can get lightening sprays, after you wash your hair you spray it on and go out in the sun. They work pretty well. You can get them from supermarkets and pharmacists
Not a hair dye. But try to use a shampoo for blondes, it dose lighten up your hair color even after you used it.

Which would be better for my hair,an organic shampoo or shampooing my hair every other day?

Ive read many many places that most shampoos contain very harsh chemicals which can strip your hair of its natural oils, causing it to look brittle and make your hair fall out. Should I still shampoo everyday, but using a organic shampoo without the harsh chemicals or should I shampoo my hair every other day using regular shampoo?Which would be better for my hair,an organic shampoo or shampooing my hair every other day?
hmmmmmm never knew there was a such thing like an organic shampoo...i never had problem with shampoos that i use ...

i would suggest that you use regular shampoo...like normal people doWhich would be better for my hair,an organic shampoo or shampooing my hair every other day?
you could shampoo every other day with your normal shampoo, unless your hair becomes oily.

but sure you can organically shampoo your hair everyday ..just be sure on which organic brands you pick cuz they usually leave your hair smelling like feet.
You should use a shampoo and conditioner that is ph balanced. Then only shampoo every other day at the most unless it just can't be avoided.
    Organic shampoo all the way.

What shampoo/conditioner would work best for me?

Helloo! I have really thick, long hair. It gets really greasy throughout the day and it really bothers me. I straighten my hair pretty much everyday. I'm going to dye it brown on tuesday. It's really hard to manage and almost impossible to style. What kind of shampoo, conditioner, and styling products should i use? And how can I get my side bangs to stay in place? Thanks! What shampoo/conditioner would work best for me?
    Side bangs - some hairspray

I have hair pretty much just like yours and I use Paul Mitchell Super Skinny shampoo and conditioner. Works great for me.

If that is too expensive for you, pretty much any good smoothing shampoo and conditioner would work wonders for you.

In my experience, John Freida and Pantene have worked well on the drugstore end.

Matrix and Paul Mitchell smoothing hair products have worked well on the higher end. What shampoo/conditioner would work best for me?
Garnier hair products. I have the same problem except my hair is really really curly. Lay off hair spray and try not to use hair moisterizers every day. go to every other day. Straightening your hair EVERY day is the reason why your hair is so greasy. The oils in your hair work to keep the heat from the iron from damaging your hair. Hence straightening your hair everyday is going to make the oils work overtime. Try everyother day. Don't be afriad to wear a ponytail every now and then.

First, maybe your diet is adding oil into your hair's life. Second, a good clarifying shampoo will help. Are you a guy? If so, try HIS MIX shampoo. The same people who make Mixed Chicks do that one. The womens' shampoo clarifies too. Hope that helps.
i used to have the same problem :)

i now use tresseme shampoos (any of them btw)

they wash off really easily and leave your hair smelling GREAT!

also if you use conditioner, stop using it :)

or at least use it just on the ends

    hope i helped x
Dandruff shampoos are good for greasy hair, because they strip hair of it's natural oils, which more often then not is bad for the hair, but if your hair has to many oils in it already, it should be fine.

Also, if it's this bad, you should talk to your hairstylist, and/or doctor.
Wella Lifetex Balanced Anti Grease Shampoo - Anti Grease Shampoo regulates and normalises the sebum balance of a greasy scalp and gently cleanses the hair.

MOP Basil Mint Shampoo - gently removes oil without over stimulating the sebaceous glands.

Will shampoo-ing my bangs every morning make them grow faster?

i want my bangs to grow a little before school starts again :( cuz i stupidly cut them myself. Will shampoo-ing my bangs every morning make them grow faster?
    No.

Lol, you shouldn't do that AGAIN! ;p

But your hair grows by itself .

Well I guess just let them grow.

    Or just hide them.

Or put it up or hide them in a cute clip. =]Will shampoo-ing my bangs every morning make them grow faster?
No, unfortuneatly what you use on your hair doens't have much of an effect on how quickly or slowly it grows. That is more of an internal issue.

If you want your hair to grow faster, I would try eating more protein (like eggs), and take a Hair, Nails, %26amp; Skin multi-vitamin (can get them at any Walgreens or Wal-mart).

Also seeing a good hairstylist can help you feel better about your hair, a good cut can be a wonderful self-image boost (can also help make your bangs look a little more co-hesive with the rest of your hair).
No, it sure won't. Neither will combing / brushing 100 times at a time.

I wish I had an answer for you, but there isn't any. Perhaps you can go to a stylist to get a new hair cut to help it blend in some; like maybe having all of your hair cut into layers all around might help somewhat.
well i dont think so but what i do is i always like try to find a hairstyle that goes well with my face and like if i need too put leave-in conditioner and brush it with those big huge brushes that have like the teeths and little hair looking thingys under it to make it look natural and it stays really preaty and natural looking.

P.S. i also cuted my hair by myself like about a year ago and it never grew as long as i had it but is getting there -_-
Weird but what I do to make my hair grow faster is put lotion in it.

I have the same problem and I am currently using Pantene Pro-V Daily Moisture Renewal. It comes with and without conditioner. But it will definitely help reviatlize and repair your damaged hair. This particular brand is specifically for damaged hair. Also, avoid washing your hair everday. Every two days should also be fine. Condition it or try hot towel treatment once a week. What is the best brand of shampoo or conditioner to treat damaged hair?
you should use redkin extreem. Report Abuse

I use optimum. The results might vary from person to person. Everybody that uses it says it's great.

whatever you feel comfortable with. or what you can afford. pantene is good, so is dove, but that can get a bit pricey. you can always get this stuff in spray cans that have the word 'laquer' all over them....they will always work. they just don't smell that good, that's all./

A very gentle shampoo that is totally free of sulphates and cones is your best bet. A good one is Avalon Organics. You can find it at your local whole foods or health food store.

Same with conditioner. Try to use products that don't contain cones. Cones just coat and seal your hair shaft preventing moisture form penetrating and helping your hair. Cones are NOT your hair's friend. Especially if it is damaged!

Try clarifying your hair free of cones then use gentle sulphate and cone free products. Lightly oil your length and ends with a couple of drops of a light oil (like jojoba oil) rubbed in your hands, then on your hair after you wash it. Use more oil for a deep treatment at night. Apply enough oil to soak but not dripping. Braid your hair and go to sleep. In the morning, wash and condition.

CWC or condition-wash-condition will help, too. Wet your hair. Apply conditioner to your hair from ears down, use diluted shampoo on roots and scalp, rinse and apply conditioner all over. This will help protect and moisturize your hair while you wash.

Try to avoid heat. Avoid blow-dryers, flat irons, hot rollers, curling irons.

These tips will over time really help your hair. You should see a real difference fairly quickly. Good luck.

And also you should use a conditioner of your choice. These tips should make your hair extra smooth and silky :). Also, try eating lots of fruits and vegetables ::: they make your hair really clean. :)
Use Bed Head-Moustier Maniac. Or Garnier they really shine up your hair. Only wash it once a day and don't use coditioner except on the ends to prevent them form spliting.

Shampoo and conditioner for blonde hair on brown hair?

I noticed that there are products meant to ';enhance'; blond hair. I have brown hair with a few strands near the top at the front of my head. Will the blonde ';enhancing'; shampoo and conditioner make my hair lighter? How long will it last? Or will it just make those few strands of blonde on my head more blonde?Shampoo and conditioner for blonde hair on brown hair?
They do make products for brunettes, it's called Brilliant Brunette by John Frieda, you can get it at just about any walmart, target, or other drug store.

    What's a really good conditioner/shampoo (for a guy)?

I was my hair every day with shampoo and use conditioner once a month. Today someone told me that it's really bad for my hair to shampoo every day, and that I should rather shampoo every other day.

I use Herbal Essences right now %26amp; Garnier Fructis. It's not really working (my hair isn't silky and smooth) so..do you guys have any suggestions? What's a really good conditioner/shampoo (for a guy)?
You should not wash it everyday. When you do, you are reactivating the oils and it is making your hair oily. This happens because your head thinks it needs more oil because of all of the shampooing, it produces more oil. You should shampoo your hair about 3 times a week and condition it every time you shampoo.

Try using V05. This is what my teenaged son uses. What's a really good conditioner/shampoo (for a guy)?
It really depends on your hair when it comes to shampooing. If your hair is prone to get greecy, then you SHOULD shampoo everyday. Or like 5 times a week.

i like herbal essences for shampoo and conditioner. Whatever scent you use for herbal essenses shampoo, just get the conditioner. you should use conditioner every day, even if you dont use shampoo.

When you use the conditioner, (the same one that you use for shampoo, dont try and mix and match, it just doesnt work) your hair will be silkeyer and smoother.
there is no difference between guys or girls shampoo and cond. it all depends on your hair type , oily, dry, colored, ETC... As long as you are using a good shampoo and cond. it does not matter you should not have any damage. I think Herbal Essences cond. has a wax base in it that tends to lay heavy on your hair and make it look and feel dull.
use conditioner everyyyy time you shampoo

i use herbal essences and garnier fructis but i condition my hair every time i shampoo it.

head and shoulders is really good too. it balances the moisture in your hair
    ummm. Well im a girl, but i know that my dad uses PERT and HERBAL ESSENCES. It makes his hair look great but it sucks for me!!! I hope it makes you hair ';SILKAY SMOOOOOOTH';
There's a brand called NIOXIN for thinning hair... my bf's been using it for a while now.
    i suggest AXE.

What's the best kind of shampoo to use?

I have dandruff and I think nappy hair. I'm not sure, because some of the strands in my hair are really wavy and bumpy. And they have breakage in the middleWhat's the best kind of shampoo to use?
Different brands of shampoo work differently on everyone. I'd recommend trying a smoothing shampoo to smooth out the nappy hairs, but also try using a clarifying shampoo once a week to get rid of build-up and fight off dandruff. It also makes a difference if you comb through an anti-frizz gel after washing your hair in the shower. I like using Pantene ProV's Smoothing Serum. Best of luck! What's the best kind of shampoo to use?
neutrogena seems to give my hair more shine and keeps the static away......but i have long hair and im a kid......my suggestion is try out a few and whichever works use
    Try useing PANTEEN PRO-V

    or HERBAL ESSENCESS

you can but it mosrly anywhere

i love kiddy shampoo. its all i ever use, and so far in my life, I've never really had any hair problems
well i think u should use this shampoo called Selsun blue. its a ant dandruff shampoo and has different types for hair types like all shampoos. Just chose what u think is the best for u. i use thins selsun stuff every alternate wash because it is a chemical and it really helps. it stopped the itching and flaking and slowly reduces the dandruff. i still use it even though my dandruff has pretty much cleared up.

Using this shampoo does it eliminate using a flat iron?Does Sunsilk Straighten Up shampoo/conditioner really make your hair straight and silky?
Yes. My hair is barely wavy but VERY thick, and it did make my hair a straighter and more silky. Better than Herbal Essences Dangerously Straight (although I must admit the Herbal Essences smelled better).Does Sunsilk Straighten Up shampoo/conditioner really make your hair straight and silky?

What is the best shampoo for washing yorkies?

I actually have two yorkies and a friend of mine has five, she is also a groomer and shows her females. She suggested Garnier Fructis or Aussie human shampoos. I know that for some dog breeds this can dry the coat, but if your Yorkie has a silkier coat, it is very close to human hair and the results are amazing. I always use tearless baby shampoo for the head and face though. What is the best shampoo for washing yorkies?
you can use dawn dishwasher soap, it works just as well, and isnt harmfull, jsut remember to wash from behind the ears back and not the face with any shampoo you use, and just wash the face with a washcloth with warm waterWhat is the best shampoo for washing yorkies?
In all honesty I've never tried washing a choclate bar. LOL.
I have shih tzu's and I bathe them in tearless baby shampoo and my vet recommended it.
I heard that you should use the most sensitive shampoo you can find. Even though my yorkie is over a year old, I use a no-tears puppy shampoo. Since he doesnt have fleas, I dont use a flea shampoo since it's more harsh than what I have right now.

I even take his shampoo to the groomer. He came home with a pinkish rash on him once and I figured it was the kind of shampoo she was using. He hasnt broken out since.

i like to use biosilk. it makes my hair soooooo soft and shiny. i straighten my hair daily and biosilk protects my hair from heat and damage. :] DONT USE PANTENE lots of yucky things in it. and it doesnt work at all.
I use Garnier Fructis sleek and shine it makes my hair look and feel healthy and shinny. I also use a flat iron it makes my hair smooth and shinny. hope this helps.
Try Biolage'. The moisturizing shampoo and conditioner. It leaves it silky and so shiny. It's one of the best kinds there is to use.
Kerastase shampoo and conditioner is the best because it contain keratin but it is very expensive

if you want a cheaper one

There are a number of them and just like with people, different dogs do better with different products. If you want a really good selection, find an area dog show of any size and check out the vendors. Cherry Brook is one vendor at a lot of the shows and they usually have a great selection. It depends on the kind of dog and the texture of the coat as to what works best. Biogroom shampoos and conditioner are good - but there are lot of different brands and the vendors are usually really good about helping you find what is best for your breed of dog.
I recommend Hylyt conditioner, the shampoo is great too. Probably not exactly what your looking in the shampoo but it's great conditioner and it soap free and gentle on their skin.

You can get it at your vet and in some pet stores.

you could rinse with vinegar and water that will get rid of any build up on your hair.
Depends on what your doing. If it is for hands ,a tough one is Lava.
cat walk!! i also like the name!!:-)
the best cleansing shampoo that i used is made by Aveda. they have awesome line of products that treat your hair. They are a little bit pricy but i think they are worth it. they also use organic stuff instead of all those chemicals.
    i would try dove
A cleansing shampoo should be used about once a week to clear all the buildup of hair products and gunk in your hair. The best one I've tried is clarifying shampoo by Neutrogena. Make sure not to use it on a regular basis though because it'll strip your hair dry.
A good one that I just started to use is ';Drama Clean'; by Herbal Essences. I have long, thick hair and the shampoo and conditioner make sure my hair is squeaky clean. If you use a lot of hairspray and gel you can use the sister shampoo called Degunkify. All of these bottles are green colored.

  • Shampoo, conditioner, etc that makes your hair smell really good?

And not just when you get out of the shower.Shampoo, conditioner, etc that makes your hair smell really good?
People always tell me my hair smells good and oh my goodness it does! I use herbal essence in the bright blue bottles I think it's coconut and orchid and it is really conditioning! Enjoy! It has made my hair so healthy and it's cheap!Shampoo, conditioner, etc that makes your hair smell really good?
    Herbal Essences.

I use the blue one for dry hair, and I always get compliments.

Or I guess you could try a couple of drops of an essence, like lavender mixed in with your shampoo or conditioner, but don't know how effective this would be, or if it would do any damage to your hair.

You can also spray a couple of squirts of perfume onto you hairbrush or hairdryer and then dry/brush your hair.
Well Ive head a couple sprays of purfume in your hair brush makes your hair smell good all day!!! But personally maybe I dont sweat much but my hair always smells like it did fresh out of the shower all day long.
    Herbal Essences for sure!!!

i love the ';color me happy'; (hot pink one) or ';drama clean'; (green one)

everyone always tells me ';your hair smells so good'; esp the boys;)

oh the orange one is good too
If you don't have really fussy hair [e.g., flaky, oily, dry] , try anything from Bath and Body Works. That always does the trick.
    Herbal Essences: Body Envy.

It comes in an orange bottle.

Hair question. I have oily hair and i need to find a good shampoo?

Do u guys have any suggestions . I have oily hair, and i want to know what shampoo is good for oily hair. Something that makes your hair smell good too.Hair question. I have oily hair and i need to find a good shampoo?
same thing with me lol okay use panten how ever you spell it or head and shoulder for oily hair thats what i useHair question. I have oily hair and i need to find a good shampoo?
I have got a really good shampoo from the body shop, it is tea tree oil, and my hair has a lot more volume, and doesn't get greasy and oily as quickly
Try getting a volumizing shampoo and stay away from shampoos that say 'smoothing' or 'moisturizing'. Also, the head%26amp;sholders shampoos keep my hair from getting greasy longer than normal shampoos. :)
pantene pro-v or dove or garnier fructis!
    Rusk Deep Shine!

What is the best brand of shampoo and creme rinse to buy for damaged long very fine hair?

Totally have to agree with Casca. Redken Extreme is the best thing for your hair. It is going to repair whatever can be saved in your hair. If there are parts that can't be saved, then have them cut off.

Once you get your hair to a decent shape, use Redken's leave-in conditioner faithfully and wear a hat when you go out in the sun. Most of all, only wash your hair every 2nd or 3rd day so that it has a chance to heal without being further dried out. Your hair's natural oils are very important to its health.

Lastly, don't put any color or curling irons on your hair til summer's over. Give it a chance to recover so that you have something good going into the winter. What is the best brand of shampoo and creme rinse to buy for damaged long very fine hair?
Treseme....ou..lala!What is the best brand of shampoo and creme rinse to buy for damaged long very fine hair?
DEFO tresemme it works on my hair try it a we tip after you apply your conditioner come it through then rinse off.
Ask a REAL stylist we are there for you!!!!I swear by Redken Extreme made for damaged and distressed hair. That line incudes a product called Anti-snap it is a leave in and it is not very heavy so you won't be waighted down
I found herbal eccences workss with my hair and you about described it so try it it could work and thats the only way to really find out.
samy they sell it at target they have for all types of hair
i use pantene smooth and sleek and use leave-in conditioner from frutise
Ok that is a kinda hard question to answer because almost every person will answer it differently but here is my opinion on the subject. I would recommend a product called Aquage it is a salon product and can't be purchased at the drug store but it is wonderful. As far as shampoo i recommend the smoothing or vitilizing ones. I recommend the healing conditioner you don't have to use a whole lot or if you just want a leave in you can use the equalizing detangler none of this stuff will way your hair down but it will make your hair look better. If you can't find it in your area you can buy a product at alot of drug stores called nexxus it would be the one i would recommend try hydruss shampoo and either nectaress or luxxtress conditioners. I also recommend getting you hair trimmed every 6-8 weeks that is the only way to actually get rid of the damage all the shampoo and conditioner are gonna do is make your hair look better.
Do not use a product from a store, go to a salon. The higher priced products like Pantene tend to be full of wax. On fine hair, it will make your hair look soft and shiny and smooth... for a while... then it will make it look dull and flat and lifeless.. eventually, this wax breaks your hair off!! Cheaper products like suave strip your hair of moisture. This will make your damaged hair dryer and frizzier.

You cannot get rid of damaged hair. You eventually will have to cut it off, but if you keep up good maintanence, you will be able to cut off a little at a time.

Go to a salon. Ask the stylist what kind of products they have for fine hair. Use them.

This is going to probably sound weird, since conditioner tends to make fine hair flat, but get a leave in conditioner. This way you can focus it where it needs to be. Buy a spray in one, and spray it on your ends as much as you need, and a little thru the top to be able to comb it. Never brush your hair when it is wet!! Use a wide tooth comb or pick. Otherwise you will break it more on the ends. Use the leave in conditioner throughout the day on your dry hair if you need to comb it, so it combs out easier.
Lanza-Long hair, I used to hair model for Lanza and thier products are awsome!!!!!!!!
    Marc Anthony Forever Long

    His conditioner is amazing!
    Pantene
depends on how ';damaged'; it is.... if it's too damaged you might just have to cut it off.

i suggest in addition to shampoo and conditioner you use a leave-in conditioner and one of the best things for hair, biosilk.

and NEVER use pantene. it coats your hair in wax that flakes off and looks like dandruff.
If your hair is damaged, cut off the worst part. Fine hair doesn't usually do well in long styles unless you put ALOT of work into it. Try to find a smoothing shampoo. I like John Frieda. You might want to try that new Pantene in the gold bottle...says it will reverse two years damage in 2 weeks.
    Sunsilk hydra tlc or anti-flat

my hairstylist told me that if you have any chemical (dyeing, etc) or mechanical (constant straightening, blowdrying, etc) damage, you should not be using a 2 in 1 at all, you definately need a separate conditioner
i have used pantene pro-v and my hair got soooo dry, the pH was too strong for my scalp and i had dandruff everywear, I dont suggest that brand.

ive wanted to try the anti snap product

do you think it would make a difference if i dont use it along side the shampoo and conditioner?Do i have to use REDKEN shampoo and conditioner along side with the anti snap?
you should use them yes, or at least another good brand as if you use cheap brands they tend to contain silicon so your hair looks falsly healthy with the layer of silicon shine, which will block other products from reaching the hair follicles xxDo i have to use REDKEN shampoo and conditioner along side with the anti snap?

It's really the healthiest for your hair, plus you can stop wasting all your money on shampoo and conditioner.

Just look up ';No Poo Method Hair Cleansing'; for more info on it.

I stopped using shampoo and conditioner years ago and my hair is soooo much nicer and healthier and easier to manage now!

Plus, since you dye your hair, it's even better because there will be no chemicals to take the color out or react with the coloring in your hair! What is the best kind of shampoo/conditioner?

What is the best shampoo in the market to use for thickening your hair and I don't want rogaine as an answer?

what is the best shampoo in the market to use for thickening your hair and I'm not talking about minoxidal like rogaine I mean something you can buy at a store like walmart for example. What is the best shampoo in the market to use for thickening your hair and I don't want rogaine as an answer?
Amplify by Matrix is good - but that's a professional product you'd have to buy at a salon. They also have a good thickening lotion. I'm not sure what's good from a regular store, but blow drying your hair helps to make it look a little thicker (unless you straighten it while drying it). When your hair is all the way dry, flip your head upside down %26amp; spray it w/ hairspray, turn off the dryer %26amp; let your hair cool, then flip your head back up to normal.

And yes, rogaine is bad. It does help hair to grow, but the odd think is once you stop using it, you'll lose more hair than you did before. What is the best shampoo in the market to use for thickening your hair and I don't want rogaine as an answer?
progaine. u can get it at walmart and drug stores and no it doesnt have rogaine in it

Can I use Ferret Shampoo on my Hamster?

I have a dwarf hamster and I am not sure what shampoo i should buy. I thought maybe ferret shampoo would be ok but i wasn't sure. My hamster has no problem taking baths and I really don't want to hurt it with the wrong shampoo. Can I use Ferret Shampoo on my Hamster?
Its Not Safe!!!! Youre never supposed to bathe a hamster with shampoo and water because it will result in the hamster being susceptible to getting sick and the hamster is likely to die. This is a common mistake in alot of owners to want to use water, but its not safe whatsoever. Go to your store and buy a bag of sand (you can go to your local hardware store even and get something called playground sand or sandbox sand) and use that as a ';bath'; for your hamster. The hamsters instinct will be to immediately roll around in it to clean itself. By nature hamsters are desert creatures so they enjoy sand and its used for natural cleaning and should take away any dirt or smell your pet may have. Whatever you do, no water or shampoo! Can I use Ferret Shampoo on my Hamster?
animal shampoo is usually pretty gently to use on any animal.
the hamsters shouldn't shower or get wet because you get their natural oil that protects them from overheat or freezing. the hamsters clean them selves nearly every time.
you actually shouldnt bathe a hamster
You could try any small animal shampoo, but i'm sure any animal shampoo will do, they are mainly all the same. There all gentle...just don't go trying OURS... thats when you will end up with problems....lol I'm sure you won't though.

I bet he's a real cute hamster..i'm from Australia and we don't have them, ive only seem pictures :)

How does John Frieda Shampoo work?

I heard about this product on Oprah a few months back. Do you know if this product works good or should I consider buying another product? Thanks! How does John Frieda Shampoo work?
They are color enhancing/depositing shampoos and conditioners. I hesitate to recommend using them. I used them when I was naturally blond and again when I went red, and both times I didn't like the way it messed with my color. They actually have dye in them, so sometimes it adds a nice shine and sometimes it adds streaks.

Aveda's color shampoos are nice. I highly recommend them. Camomile Shampoo for blond, madder root for red, clove for brown and blue malva for everything else! Smell fantastic, cheap too!How does John Frieda Shampoo work?
Pretty well.. I use the John Freida shampoo and conditioner for red hair daily and the hair glaze occassionally (as needed)... These products clean well and do maintain my hair color so that I do not have to recolor nearly as often as I used to.
Well, I used to be a redhead when I was younger, and my hair got darker as I grew up. I started using J. Frieda shampoo a few months ago and although there is no dramatic change, my hair slightly got its red shine back. Your hair doesn't smell really well after you use it so I advise you use another shampoo after that.

What is the best shampoo for dry and damaged hair?

I have very damaged hair . what shampoos and conditioners are goodWhat is the best shampoo for dry and damaged hair?
I like to use an all natural product Free of unwanted chemicals. Go to your local heath food store. they will help. They helped me fix way more than just hair problems. For a quick cheap trick I also use Hot oil treatment from the store. About $3.00 for 2 treatments.leave it on longer than the directions says. Wrap your hand in plastic wrap and apply heat from your hair dryer. Your dryness is NOT going to change much unless you change other things to. Like drinking more water, using you hair dryer less, and so on. Please visit the health store!!!What is the best shampoo for dry and damaged hair?

  • What is a good shampoo for shedding?

I am allergic to our cat but he only bothers me when he is shedding. I am just looking for some good shampoos for him to cut down on the hair loss. It would be great to be able to see again and stop sneezing. What is a good shampoo for shedding?
Try Allerpet Products, they should be available at any pet store. Also, daily brushing will certainly help with the dander and hair. What is a good shampoo for shedding?
Walmart has a great shapoo that is oatmeal based usually shedding can be a cause of skin irritation also groom your animal more and the shedding will decrease
I don't use pet shampoos on my pets. They're too harsh. Buy a people shampoo that contains conditioning. Brushing our cat will help, too.
I have found that using a horse rake gently on your pet the hair will come right of. It worked for my german shepard
Make sure your cat is eating a quality cat food this will cut down on the dander and hair loss.

If i straighten my hair everyday and use a good shampoo like head n shoulders, will my hair be healthy?

i know straightening ur hair everyday is bad but when my hair is in a ponytail it does this wierd stick straight thing. so i gotta straighten it.If i straighten my hair everyday and use a good shampoo like head n shoulders, will my hair be healthy?
No your hair will not be healthy because that much is damaging and no amount of hair product will keep it healthy as long as you continue straightening it. And, no, you don't *have* to straighten it, you *choose* to do so. Find a new hairstyle or deal with the weird stick straight ';thing'; if you want healthy hair, as well as stop straightening so much. I hope you're using a good heat protectant...If i straighten my hair everyday and use a good shampoo like head n shoulders, will my hair be healthy?
Use a good hot iron product before you straighten it; that protects your hair from damage from the flatiron. Head and Shoulders is a drying shampoo; you need a moisturizing shampoo. Go to a salon for a good product.
My friend I straighten my hair everyday, I wash it every other day and its healthy. :x So i think its okay, as long as you don't wash it everyday.

What is the best shampoo/conditioner for me?

I have medium thick, shoulder length, naturally very WAVY hair (and poofy). i WANT smooth, silky, STRAIGHT hair. what is the best SHAMPOO AND CONDITIONER for me??What is the best shampoo/conditioner for me?
I have similar hair to you and i use John Freida's Frizz-ease products, they help with frizz (poofy) and also make my hair sleek. The straightening potion is wicked as well as the s%26amp;c the serem makes my hair a bit greasy but the relaxing cream is good for fly away hair once straigtened. the products are a reasonable price when seeing the results they give. :-)What is the best shampoo/conditioner for me?
I would suggest some redken or salon quality shampoo and or conditoner. Do you have a Ulta near you? What I found to be really cool is they have some trial sizes of some of their good quality shampoos and conditoners and you wont really have to pay too much. But its a good way to see if the product will really help you. Also they have people there that you can ask questions to about hair care and they can guide you to the best product. I love the trial sizes because it lets me try them out and see if I like them. Best of luck.
The absolute best is the new brand called Organix. It has organic active ingredients and is sulfate free, soit wont dry out your hair, plus...it smells awesome! They have different collections for different hair types which are all amazing! You can get Organix at Target, Albertsons, Kroger, Duane Reade, Safeway, etc. You'll love it!

    until the water run's clear

and has no soapy residue left.

    hope this helps

xxHow can you tell if you have rinsed all the shampoo and conditioner out of your hair?
You should rinse it until it feels 'squeaky', there is a bit of resistance when you run your fingers through it. If they run through too easily there is still conditioner in it.How can you tell if you have rinsed all the shampoo and conditioner out of your hair?
if you grip it between your thumb and finger and pull gently it should ';squeak'; hence squeaky clean.
when you brush your hair after you shower, there will be bubbles or white stuff in your hair
if your hair still feels like reallllllllllly soft, like it still has c0nditioner in it after you shower then you know
is this a real question lol
your hair will not look like it has soap in it / suds

sometimes you can hear when you still have shampoo / conditioner in there

  • How much should you use a shampoo before determining it's good for your hair?

If you're looking for a good shampoo and you buy the mini samples, how many times should you use it before determining if it's right for your hair? How much should you use a shampoo before determining it's good for your hair?
    Mini samples are a scam!

You simply cannot tell the long term effects a shampoo/conditioner will have on your hair by washing it three times, and using as little as possible in order to conserve your sample.

If you color your hair, look for shampoos with no sulfate in them (the sulfate fades the color quickly)

If you have frizzy/heat damaged hair, look for shampoos that have lots of vitamins and proteins (amino acids) in it to help strengthen hair.

So, to answer your question, there is no timeline. Believe it or not, companies perform research on their products, so when they say it will take a month to see results, it WILL TAKE a month. Another suggestion is to ask around, either online, in the salon, etc. about the effects this shampoo has on people with similar hair types. How much should you use a shampoo before determining it's good for your hair?
They don't make good shampoos in mini samples, just the drugstore crap the builds wax up onto your hair and doesn't really clean it.

Can you be allergic to shampoo?

Ive got all little spots on my forehead.I never had them before and i wondering is it the shampoo causing it?Can you be allergic to shampoo?
it could be the conditioner if you use one. also, try washing your face and back with soap AFTER you do your hair, to remove any residue. you could also use a toner after you bath to completely clean the hairline around your face. Can you be allergic to shampoo?
our body is so sensitive that it can be allergic to so many things that we are exposed to. i dont think the little spots on your forehead is due to shampoo, may be some chemicals or toxins added in your food that you have consumed may cause skin allergy or anything in the air can also induce such allergies. anyway, this may vanish. please wash your face atleast thrice in a day with cool water. better to avoid shampoo, use instead natural products such as henna, shikakai powder, lemon, curd etc. for your glowing hair.
It is quite possible, since shampoos contain many ingredients that your body can have a negative reaction to, such as fragrance, coloring, and various herbs, plant extracts, etc.

Try switching shampoos or maybe using a baby shampoo
    Yes,this could happen

Use baby shampoo for abut two weeks and look for a change.
You can be allergic to anything.
    yes
Yes, you can be allergic to shampoos and conditioners and any and all hair products! But you don't state your age - if you are still a teen, it could just be natural for your age, caused by hormones and the same applies if you are pregnant or have recently had a baby!

I'd try using a very gentle shampoo like Johnsons baby range or a good 'hypo-allergenic'shampoo - there are plenty about to choose from.

Other things to consider though include any changes you have made to the make-up you use or any changes to your diet - so, plenty of fresh veggies and fruit and quit on the MacDonalds and the greasy bacon sandwiches and the fizzy drinks - all of which are really bad for your skin! - Pat
yes as shampoos are made of chemicals and a particular shampoo can contain specific chemical which one might be allergic too
or you can say the same thing as........

    ..shampoo ..being allergic to you
no, you can't be allergic to shampoo no one has ever been allergic to shampoo....they test shampoos before they get sent to markets maybe it's just the way your body or scalp reacts to the chemicals in the shampoo
Yes you could be allergic to the shampoo. If you have bangs or hair hanging in your face a lot you could just be breaking out.

Shine, volume, hydration, and everything else important. What would be a good shampoo?

What shampoo would be good to use for shine, volume, and hydration that is cheap and available at places like WalMart, Zellers or Atlantic Superstore?

Nothing like Pert or Dove, though. I'd also like for something that smells wonderful!

Thanks :)Shine, volume, hydration, and everything else important. What would be a good shampoo?
Try the L'oreal Vive Pro products.

I've got super curly and thick hair, and it works really really well for me, and it still smells nice.

They're cheap, and I'm very picky about my hair products, so, you should give it a try. Shine, volume, hydration, and everything else important. What would be a good shampoo?
***NOT! PANTENE****!!!!! Over a long period of time it will harm your hair more than it will help it! It ahs some of the same chemicals in it that they use for rat poisoning! Don't believe me? Go to a salon and ask a hairstylist.
Hi, try some SunSilk hair products these are great and their is one just for you plus you will love the great smell and it last.
i adore pantene products, they make your hair so silky and healthy feeling, almost like the girls in the commercials!
    pantene.works gr8. i myself am a pantene girl

What to do about this shampoo?

I have shampoo that I bought last year and it does say not tested on animals. But I'm not sure if it contains animal products. I don't want to throw it away because it's like throwing away money (But I won't make the mistake of buying the type of shampoo again after it's gone)

And I'm OCD though- I'm getting treatment- but I kind of worry about what if there are animal products in the shampoo. I don't want to style my hair or scratch my head and get any remnants of shampoo on me and then track it around everywhere. What should I do? This isn't logical right?

No mean answers. What to do about this shampoo?
    Hi Again,

You have to balance the stress it will cause you against the money it would cost to replace.

With your OCD, i would say you might want to give it away and buy an alternative, it'll be less worrisome for you

    best of luck

mWhat to do about this shampoo?
If you don't want to throw it away, why don't you give it away to friends or family who don't mind using shampoo that might contain animal products. If you are still worried about wasting money, sell it to them. If they are close friends they will understand your dilemma.

You don't mention the product or brand, but try and search it in the internet and find out what ingredients are in it.

My casual opinion is that it does not matter if it's logical or not. It is what it is and you said that you are getting help/treatment.
I am not being mean, I am not sure if the some people realize that even though a product states ';This product was not tested on animals'; that every ingredient has been over the years. After so many trials with certain chemicals, the data has been analyzed enough that further reseach does not need to be done on them. The main ingredient in any soap produt or shampoo (sodium lauryl sulfate) is a prime example. There is decades of animal testing data used on this ingredient that there is no more need for it to be tested on animals so instead they test it on humans instead (dermal studies). Anyways, I am sure a lot of health food stores sell products that do not compromise your beliefs, but I wasn't sure if all people knew that or not. It is a marketing trick that alot of companies use to not lose busines to people who are offended by animal research.
Can't you read the label and verify the ingredients? If this shampoo is bugging you give it to a friend, it won't be wasted, and you won't have to worry.
I'm thinking that if you are OCD, you will never be able to get your head clean if you think that you might be spreading dead animals on your hair. I would probably in your situation avoid that shampoo for obvious reasons and go ahead and get you some that is what you want. You don't have to waste it. Give it to someone you know and tell them why... it sounds silly but there is no sense in wasting it.

    hope it helps.
Gee........you COULD try contacting the manufacturer for details OR...........maybe just trade with someone for another product (of similar value) whether or not its even shampoo.......let THEM worry about the contents and you're not out any money...........:)

If i used oil free shampoo and conditioner would it somewhat help get rid my bacne?

    That at all possible?

I know it wont get rid of it...but the oils in shampoos add to bacne right?

    AND YES BACNE!

SOME OF YOU ARE COMPLETE IDIOTS AND THINK IM SPELLING ACNE WRONG.

No as in Bacne-acne on your back/chestIf i used oil free shampoo and conditioner would it somewhat help get rid my bacne?
I don't think that would be a very good idea. You should consider taking a multi-vitamin.Acne is the body's reaction to hormonal issues. You should try Hair,Skin, and Nails from Puritan's Pride, that should help a lot.

http://www.puritan.com/pages/file.asp?xs鈥?/a>If i used oil free shampoo and conditioner would it somewhat help get rid my bacne?
It could help a little bit. If you wanna see a difference, frequently wash your pillowcases %26amp; sheets. Also, change your body wash %26amp; using a gentle scrub on your back with the body wash may help as well. =]
    i used to have bacne.

what helped my was right when i got home from being out i just put my hair up so it didnt touch my back and then i showered before i went to bed and just rinsed my hair out and used a back scrubbing brush with ';Basis'; a facewash cleaner

and then i put my hair in a bun and slept with it like tht so it didnt touch my back

then when i woke up in the morning i showed again and washed my back but this time i also washed my hair with oil free shampoos.

this is a stupid routine that eventually just became part of my daily life.

and when i cant shower at night nd use a back brush i just use a wet wash clothe to wipe off my back so that there arent as many oils

    I HOPE THIS HELPS!
