the green sunsilk for culrs and or waves i use this and i love itWhat is the best shampoo and conditoner?!?!?
I use Aussie Moist Shampoo and Conditioner :)

I've tride Matrix, Biolage, and other highly priced. But the 3.99 seems to be better...and leave your hair shiney and smooth!
herbal essences
nexus!!! that brand is the best u will ever use bc first off, it is great for all hair types and two- they have a silk protein formula that makes ur hair silky and smooth.
I like Aveda's Shampure Shampoo and Conditioner...

If you use a product to help straighten your hair you may have some problems with product build up. Shampure is great for removing build up, and is gentile enough to use regularly.

Neutrogena also makes a decent shampoo and conditioner.
They are all the same. In fact, dish-soap is as good a shampoo as any shampoo.

All you are paying for is the fragrance...
Use this-

I use that, but a different kind, not the curly kind. And it works great with my hair =D
I like Tea Tree from Paul Mitchell. It smells like peppermint, and your hair tingles and feels cool when you are using it!
tresemme or loreal vive pro

good luck hope this helps
This may sound cheap, but VO8 products are like theee best. They sell for 99 cents but work like a million dollars for soft waves. Good Luck!

My hairs are very dry and there is dandruff what shampoo is best for me?

Hi guys,

I have very dry hair and there is dandruff, I am very upset please guide me what shampoo will reduce dryness and dandruff? My hairs are very dry and there is dandruff what shampoo is best for me?
head and shoulders, but it sounds like you wash your hair a lot. most shampoos are made to remove oils from your hair and oils are what give your hair shine and keeps your scalp from drying out. wash your hair every other day and use a good conditioner like garnier fructis. only use head and shoulders once a week and you hair will be dandruff free and shiny. My hairs are very dry and there is dandruff what shampoo is best for me?
go a nd have your thyroid checked.....
You should try ';Head and Shoulders.'; It works really good with people that have dandruff and dry hair.
you should first use sulfur shampoo, you can get it at any hair store, then use a Redken shampoo and a Redken conditioner to restore the moisture in your hair. It works for me. I've tried Head n shoulders, nutrogena, tea tree oil, Nizoral, and this is the only thing that works for me. Also use a leave in conditioner after you finish wash your hair. You'll see a difference. Once every 2 weeks get a protein treatment at your local stylist or you can use V05'S deep conditioning treatment ( the 10 minute one come with a deep conditioning cap) and you will see results.
tea tree oil shampoo, the organic kind, its all natural
Hi Mr AZF,

i know what its like wanting to be dandruff free.try nizoral shampoo u can purchased with a prescription over the counter at pharmacies.head n shoulders works great too .changed ur brand of shampoo every 2 to 3 mths as it will tend to be immune to the same type over long periods.
I agree with the others that Head and Shoulders will help with the dandruff. I would also suggest getting a moisturizing shampoo. Dove moisturizing is one that I prefer that is cheap enough to use every day. Sometimes I use a more costly conditioner, such as Joico's KPAK, because my hair is naturally very dry.

  • What are the best shampoo, conditioner and products for dry hair?

i straighten my hair alot. put the brand and like the type(mouisterizing, anti breakage, ect. What are the best shampoo, conditioner and products for dry hair?
I swear by this shampoo. In(fus)ium 23 Repairology shampoo, conditioner, and leave in conditioner. It is awesome. I had horribly dry, frizzy hair from straightening it and highlighting it many many times. I had a hair model tell me that what she uses is Infusium because she dyes her hair a lot for different shoots. I tried it, and it works beautifully! I actually suggested it to another person on yahoo answers and she responded back saying she noticed a difference while shampooing and couldn't thank me enough! You can get it at most stores...I usually get mine at Wal Mart. My hair is so much healthier now, and I still dye it and straighten it.What are the best shampoo, conditioner and products for dry hair?
I really like Nexxus Luxury moisturizing shampoo and conditioner..it's amazing. and the best after shower thing to use...in the entire WORLD, is this stuff called ';miracle 7';. It's sold only at sally beauty supply and it costs $10-$12 and it will cure your dry hair problem. it detangles, repairs damaged hair, makes it SOFT and shiny etc etc..it does everything and you don't even have to use an expensive shampoo and conditioner if you use this stuff. it's a leave-in conditioner and works the best after a shower. trust me. it's awesome!
    HI there.

Please look for shampoos that contain zero or very little Sodium Lauryl Sulfate. This is extremely drying and hard on the skin, hair and eyes. Unfortunately, it is found in MANY skin and bath products as a main ingredient.

I have very dry, fine hair. (ugh!) It has gotten a lot softer since finding these products.

They are hard to find though. Your best bet, is a Whole Foods or other health/vitamin store.

I use Shitake Shampoo and another one from Nature's Gate.

    Hope this helps....
L'Oreal Vive Pro Hydra Gloss moisturizing (yellow bottles). I have very fine hair, so I only use it once a week or even less often than that, but it is like MAGIC!

I have yet to find something that works for my dry hair. I have tried the Dove in the blue bottle among many other things and nothing has helped so far.
garnier fructis moisture works shampoo %26amp; conditioner! they work for dry hair %26amp; helps damaged hair!

    aphogee products is great!
dove.........buy it depeding on your usage....if you use daily buy the daily therapy. but the trick lies in leaving in the conditioner for 5-10 mins...making ur hair nourished.....do hot oil massage once a week or twice
Dove (the blue bottle) Is great. Because mine is like that

What's the best shampoo and conditioner to use?

I have thick, curly, sometimes dry, damaged hair

I was thinking pantene pro v, aussie, or garnier fruticsWhat's the best shampoo and conditioner to use?
bio-infusionWhat's the best shampoo and conditioner to use?
Personally I like Herbal Essences. It smells good and has lots of different types for different types of hair. The conditioner works especially well for me. Also, it is not one of the more expensive brands of shampoo and conditioner. You really don't need to spend a lot of money on shampoo , just try out a lot of brands untill you find one you like. Pantene conditioner isn't bad as well, but it has absolutely no smell at all and the shampoo doen't suds up at all. Herbal Essences is probably your best bet. Try the type for curly hair. I also find that the light green kind helps to get out cleaurean from the pool.

Can i wash my chiuawua with baby shampoo instead of dog shampoo?

because i just got this dog about a month ago and i dont know everything there is to know about them still learning .... but i thing is i hate the way dog shampoo smells so is baby shampoo ok or will it dry or irritate her skin???Can i wash my chiuawua with baby shampoo instead of dog shampoo?
Dogs have a different PH than humans. You should use a puppy oatmeal shampoo and don't bathe to often or you can end up with dry skin. Can i wash my chiuawua with baby shampoo instead of dog shampoo?
Absolutely! And if it has fleas, you can bathe her in dawn dishwashing liquid to kill the fleas! Chihuahuas don't smell, so they don't need bathed very often - once a month is fine.
first of all its CHIHUAHUA. and second, yes you can. i use oatmeal baby shampoo on both of my chihuahuas and it makes them feel smooth and smell great! plus the oatmeal is good for there skin.
Any kind of human shampoo will probably remove too much good healthy oil from the coat. Pet stores and vet clinics sell good dog shampoos and will give you advice on which to use.

    Happy hunting.
Baby shampoo is just fine. it wont irritate the skin. I use baby soap on my dogs face, when i bathe them, only because its extremely gentle and wont irritate their eyes
Im not sure what a chiuawua is but if it is a dog then no do not use human shampoo.
Yes, because it is very gentle on your dog's skin and it won't bother his eyes.
Chihuahua. It will dry him out too much.
yea you can do it, it wont hurt. i wash my small animals with it (rats guinea pigs mice)
yes baby shampoo is mild and often sold at pet stores

Are bears attracted to scented body products like lotion, shampoo, and deodorant?

I am going camping soon in bear territory in Northern California. I have heard that bears are attracted to scented lotions and shampoo. I am really into bath and body work, so most of the body and hair products I use are very organic and smell like the real thing. Like any other camper I do not want to be attacked by a bear. Are bears attracted to scented body products like lotion, shampoo, and deodorant?
Yes, that's true. I remember clearly when I went camping up to Palomar Mountains in Southern CA that we were told to try and use fragrance-free products because bears are attracted to the faintest smell of shampoo. They're also attracted to sweet smells, so don't let candy laying around. Are bears attracted to scented body products like lotion, shampoo, and deodorant?
Oh yes, they even have their own brand :-)

    http://www.bear-haven.com/Page3.html

Also I guess they like mascara and lipstick :-)
Bears will absolutely be attracted to anything of that sort. Keep it out of your tent!
to repel bears you must use salmon oil, it works like a charm, just rub it all over you make sure the smell its all over
    yea.

  • Nioxin shampoo or garlic shampoo better for hair loss?

I have full long hair but i also lose a lot of hair when i wash, comb, and just brush my fingers through my hair. i've heard that nioxin and garlic shampoo does help with hair loss but i wanted to know if that is true and which works better. Nioxin shampoo or garlic shampoo better for hair loss?
sw33tbabieegurl, One of my tennis partners started loosing his hair at an early age. After several different herbal, homebrew, and crazy stuff from the Internet, he finally decided to visit a hair loss center. Initially he was nervous to go becasue of the costs, but he learned a lot from the free consultations. After 12 months he is starting to regain some hair. I wish I know exactly what treatment he is using, but maybe you could call a local clinic. http://www.hairlossandtreatment.comNioxin shampoo or garlic shampoo better for hair loss?
if you aren't really loosing hair than you should use neither. On average humans lose around 200 hairs a day. Thats a lot of hair. Unless you have been told by a doctor that you are losing hair i wouldn't waste time or money using products for hair loss. If you were losing your hair you'd know it. Best of luck!
Nioxin - 3 people in my family use it and it works great - I use it cause I have hair loss from my thyroid condition. It makes my hair full and thick AND cleans your scalp so well (that's part of how it works). Totally try it today! I recommend it to anyone with hair loss or itchy dry scalp!

Baking soda in shampoo as a deep cleaner?

I read in a magazine that if you add a certain amount of baking soda to a quarter sized thing of shampoo you could use it as a clarifying shampoo. Does anyone know how much baking soda to use?Baking soda in shampoo as a deep cleaner?
Use about two tablespoons and mix until the baking soda is in a fine grain.

I use pureology shampoo, BUT i need to control dandruff?

I use pureology(which is anti-suflate and alcohol and vegan shampoo/conditioner/products) and it works wonders on my hair. But I need something to get rid of dandruff that does have sulfate/alcohol and is not tested on animals. Any ideas?I use pureology shampoo, BUT i need to control dandruff?
Whenever I have a dandruff problem, I use baking soda along with my regular shampoo to help get rid of it. I just pour my regular amount of shampoo into my hand and dump some baking soda into may hand as well and mix the two together and then rub it into my hair as I would any shampoo. I'd say I use about a tablespoon of baking soda. And I shampoo with it twice if the dandruff is really bad.

I shared this with my hairstylist and she started using it as well. She believes the the baking soda makes conditioning treatments more effective as well.

I don't think that baking soda is tested on animals and I think it's considered a natural product.

I hope you like it. I got the idea from the side of a box of, guess what...baking soda!I use pureology shampoo, BUT i need to control dandruff?

How much lemon juice should you put in your shampoo if you BARELY want to make it lighter?

HOw much? How much lemon juice should you put in your shampoo if you BARELY want to make it lighter?
I suggest using Sun In, or going to a salon and getting subtle highlights. Lemon juice is so drying and damaging to your hair. And you never can tell what it is going to do to your hair. How much lemon juice should you put in your shampoo if you BARELY want to make it lighter?
i would pick up a bottle of ';Sun in'; that way you can control how it turns out.

careful though, depending on your hair color, lemon juice of any kind (sun in or straight juice) can turn your hair orange.
    Just a couple drops.
    that wont make it lighter.

you need to put lemon juice straight on your hair (dry hair) and stay in the sun for a few hours then wash it out.

I just went to their launch party and had my hair done, free as a demo. Its amazing, my hair was breaking off and flying away. I will always always buy this stuff. How do you keep hi-lited hair from turning green and coperish, is there a shampoo, I could use?

My hair is dark brown with blond hi-lites.How do you keep hi-lited hair from turning green and coperish, is there a shampoo, I could use?
This had happened to me once...try using Back to Basics Shampoo and Conditioner. I think its the revitalizing and clarifying kind. My hairdresser had me switch every other day between the two of them! Good Luck and I know how you feel with the green and copper hair!!! ugh!!!How do you keep hi-lited hair from turning green and coperish, is there a shampoo, I could use?
CLAIROL MAKES A BLUE/PUPLE SHAMPOO FOR HILIGHTED/GRAY HAIR... COLOR DOES FADE, THOUGH... THE SUN CAN REAK HAVOK ON IT ,SO CAN CHLORINE...

C HECK THE SALON OR SALLY BEAUTY FOR THE NAME OF THE SHAMPOO... I THINK ITS CLLED SHIMMERLITES... HARD TO FIND...SALLYS DOES HAVE IT, YOU CAN ALSO CALL 1-800 clairol and ask them where you can purchase it...
So which is it turning? It can't be both. Green would be something like chlorine affecting it and cop perish would be the dark brown fading or you think your highlights are brassy. Without seeing you it is hard to say. A violet based shampoo with cancel out warmth in blond. Try Artec, they have a lot of pigment in the shampoo's. If you are getting chlorine in your hair, simply wet your hair with tap water and then add a little leave in condo prior to swimming or hot tubing. Best of luck.

  • Can you please recommend a good brand of shampoo/conditioner?

My room-mate and I are looking for a good brand of hair care products. We tried Garnier Fructris, Head and Shoulders, and Paul Mithcell. They either left our hair dry, or staticy/fly-away-ish. What is a good-quality brand that would be healthy for our hair and make it look nice?

My room-mate has oily hair. My hair isn't really oily or dry. We both have brown hair, a little past our shoulders. What brand should we try? Aussie? Dove? L'Oreal? Other? Please give suggestions! Thanks. Can you please recommend a good brand of shampoo/conditioner?

Definitly Herbal Essences. oh goodness it's like AMAZING what it does to your hair. I've been using it for a year now and it's totally sucessful. I use:

    right now

They have a product selector where you say what kind of types of hair you want and what styles you do, and it matches you with the products! it's amazing!

    (that's the hair matcher thingie)

I love herbal essences. i don't think i will ever go back!! They have all these different types to target your hair. So far, my favorite is None of your frizziness, and hello hydration. I haven't tried Hydrolicious yet- i just got it. I highly recommend this. And at walmart they have trial sizes too. They are like 5-7 dollars, too, try it!!

I use Hydralicious it has different types of formula for what type of hair you have. I use the balancing shampoo so it conditions spots that are dry. Plus it smells amazing!

What dog shampoo would you recommend?

I have a shih tzu and i want a good shampoo nothing that would dry his hair out? His all black hair if it matters.

Also I know the best way to keep his coat healhy is diet and all that....but im asking about shampoos. What dog shampoo would you recommend?
use and oatmeal shampoo with baking soda which they sell at petsmart and use an conditioner after the shampoo and sometimes use a whiteing shampoo its not made sepcific for white hair its best used to keep a bright and healty coat your your dog. and please brush and comb his hair everyday and dont leave clothing on his for a long time these are things that can cause your dog to be shaved its there not done it keeps him from getting mattedWhat dog shampoo would you recommend?
Earth Bath. They're products are all natural with not chemicals, and they smell good :). Plus you can buy it at petsmart. Reasonable price too. I use the puppy shampoo on my chi because its tear free and she wiggles in the bath. And I use the anti-itch kind on my english bully for her allergies and its the only thing that has made a dent in her itching.

Its a great product and I highly reccomend it.
You can try Neem Soap. I know this is not a shampoo but it works really well. It is hypoallergenic and is great at keeping bugs away from your dog whilst making their fur nice and shiny too. I got mine online: http://www.petwellbeing.com/dog-natural-soap-p79.cfm
The one that you buy from the vet.

But I recently have tried 3M Pet care, and I like it. One of my dogs has sevsitive skin and this one doesnt bother her.

It has Vitamin E and Aloe Vera in it! Good stuff!
I use pet head it decrease the smell of the dog and it makes there coat nice and soft

    http://www.petheadshop.com/
Honestly, Dawn %26amp; Joy dish soap works to kill fleas on animals. But to keep your dog's fur coat healthy you should use the dog oatmeal shampoo. It is really good for it :)
You could ask you're vet or go look arround in a petstore but honestly you're shampoo (and yes even condatiner) will work fine.... little kid shampoo is the best like the tear-free kind
    Oatmeal
Any good dog shampoo will work...

Is it true that people use less soap & shampoo when the economy goes south?

I've read studies about this trend. maybe it's just a correlation but have you had any personal experience regarding this?Is it true that people use less soap %26amp; shampoo when the economy goes south?
It depends on how far down the economy goes...people actually buy more lipstick in a recession...i think that it is probably more of like a bell curveIs it true that people use less soap %26amp; shampoo when the economy goes south?
In economic crisis, certainly some items that can be considered otherwise ';basic elements';, become obviously less necessary than let's say..........food.

If your income is reduced, or are left with no income whatsoever, you will eliminate non-basics (as is the case of shampoo and soap) and concentrate on those basic elements to sustain life.
no. i just stop buying crap i don't need.
use less soap and shampoo. maybe water it down a bit if i make less money than before but if i make same numbers then id spend the same.

So what do you think is the best Shampoo and Conditioner?

Okay I was just wondering what kinds of Shampoos and Conditioners make hair silker and soft? Any Opinions? So what do you think is the best Shampoo and Conditioner?
Pantene. I also use Sunsilk Hydra TLC...but don't use too much!So what do you think is the best Shampoo and Conditioner?
i used to use tresseme shampoo and conditioner, and thought my hair was nice, but when i ran out while my mom was away, i borrowed hers. it was pantene and the other was dove. i was amazed at how my hair felt after using these, and i now use dove repairing shampoo and conditioner everyday. i love dove and pantene conditioners, but i don't think it's important to be super selective when choosing shampoo. i also like herbal essences ';long-term relationship'; (in the red bottle). it smells really good and works great. but i think dove is probably the best choice.
    I loooove Tresemme shanpoo.

But what I really love is Herbal essences conditioner :)
    Biolage Matrix, Hydratherapie.

It's the best, in my opinion.
I personally love Aussie Shampoo and Conditioner because it make my hair feel light and they smell amazing!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I would suggest this brand to anyone with any hair type! :)
Shampoo cleans hair, that is all that it can do. I love Fashonista by Catwalk. It is really great, lathers amazingly so you only need a tiny bit, and it is the right strength. Matrix makes amazing products all around, their conditioners are the best of any brand that I have ever used. Sleek Looks is what I use and recommend to you, it does miracles!

How long after dying should I wait to shampoo/condition my hair?

Just wait until the next day, but do NOT do it right after you dye it

Good Luck! Hope I helped! How long after dying should I wait to shampoo/condition my hair?
Did you use a dye or a tint? They are very different things, you know, and need to be handled differently. Please check.

But the rule is that you only shampoo your hair when it is dirty. Not because you need to re-style it, but to clean it. After a colouring treatment, your hair is clean, so you won't need to do it again for a couple days. Remember that too-frequent shampooing will cause your colour to fade much faster, depending on what you are using. Do it as infrequently as you can -- we tend to over-shampoo most of the time, and create problems for ourselves. Only when it is dirty! How long after dying should I wait to shampoo/condition my hair?
The dye should have a setting time listed on it. A good rule is 25 minutes.

When you wash out the dye, make sure to use a color-safe shampoo to make sure you get all the extra chemicals rinsed out. Use a strong conditioner right afterwards to help your hair healthy after the chemical bath.
If it is an at home dye kit, it should come with a conditioner that you apply after you rinse the dye, because the dye is very drying.

Dont shampoo for 24 hours after a dye job.
You are suppose to shampoo right after a coloring session!!!
I usually wait about 36 hours.
The dye should have a setting time listed on it
I don't wash my hair for like a day after I dye it.

Is it ok to use just one, regular shampoo for more than a month?

So what I want to know if you can use one shampoo bottle until it's over with out switching to a different one every week and then back to the old one. Is ok to just use one bottle? I mean I currently use Nexxus Therrappe Shampoo and it's pretty expensive. So do I need the second bottle of different shampoo? Thanks soooo much for answering! Is it ok to use just one, regular shampoo for more than a month?
if the shampoo makes your hair healthy and works for you, then yes you can stick to the same shampoo but other people prefer to try different ones when their bottle empties just to find the right one for them so if it is doing its job, stay with it and if it stops working as good for you, then that means that your hair is getting too used to the same shampoo and it is time to try a new one

  • Is Tresemme shampoo and conditioner bad for your hair?

Does it damage it or is it really salon quality? Is Tresemme shampoo and conditioner bad for your hair?
Its actually good for your hair. it has tons of vitamins. It is the only thing that can soften and de frizz my curly locks. My stylist told me if going for a store brand Tresemme is the best way to go!!!!!!!!!Is Tresemme shampoo and conditioner bad for your hair?
I have 4 girls in the house all with long hair we use it all the time and love it
    No, it's really good.
No, its good stuff. My cousin, she works for a Paul Mitchell salon and she says it good to use. My former co-worker used it on her hair and she had beautiful long hair. I've tried it, i like it.
no its good but pantene is really bad for ur hair tho ( =
My husband swears by it, won't use anything else. He, of course, has very thick hair which seems to grow overnight. Me, I swear by Pantene. But no, it's never damaged his hair. I don't know about salon quality. I mean Suave conditioner works great for me and I love the Ocean Breeze scent. Can't tell you how many people have asked what I used because my hair smells so fantastic.
    I think it works wonders!
Personally, I think that is just cheap, glorified, shampoo. I used and it made my hair feel like straw

Would bleach hurt if you used it as shampoo?

We had to watch this movie during school and there were a bunch of girls at camp. Then in the bathroom of one cabin there was this really mean girl who filled an empty shampoo bottle with bleach, and when the other girl got in the shower she started screaming and was in a lot of pain when she used the ';shampoo';. I'm just wondering if it would really hurt that bad. I mean, I know it's bad to drink it, but if you just poured it over your head would it still hurt?Would bleach hurt if you used it as shampoo?
I had a friend that got it on her hands and it eat the skin right off.I would think it would be really bad for the scalp.Would bleach hurt if you used it as shampoo?
it might burn your skin. or maybe she was screaming cuz she was mad it was bleach and could smell it
it will scar/damage your eyes ,mouth and throat,,bleach is a caustic acid it burns
Anyone would get their eyes burned in a situation like that... It's a very harsh chemical, yet to answer your question bleach would hurt.

This is off the wall but if you're looking to lighten your hair without color treatments, there are color boosting shampoo's for blond, brunettes and red heads.

Also doing that is an assault (misdemeanor). It's a very cruel crime.

How to get rid of dandruff without changing shampoo's?

Any remedies? How to get rid of dandruff without changing shampoo's?
Yes rinse scalp with ACV apple cider vinegar. THis will change the PH level in your scalp, do this before washing.

GLHow to get rid of dandruff without changing shampoo's?
You may need to change shampoos only for a little while. Usually dandruff can be treated by special shampoos available without a prescription at your pharmacy. These shampoos contain different medicinal ingredients that contain salicylic acid, coal tar, or antifungal properties. Many dandruff shampoos are now more pleasant to use. Recent developments in zinc pyrithione shampoos have made them especially effective. Use them everyday until the dandruff is under control, and then one to three times a week as needed.

Goody makes a line of hair brushes called something like Style Therapy. They sell at Wal-Mart for about $10. There's one with copper bristles that works great on my really bad dandruff (before I started using this, my scalp would bleed from my dandruff! Gross, I know...). I use it every night and never have to use dandruff shampoo any more. And the brush lasts more than a year, so it's definitely cheaper than dandruff shampoo too!

::EDIT:: Please, please do NOT believe the person who wrote about shampoo causing dandruff! Dandruff is generally caused by a yeast/fungus (gross I know), it has nothing to do with the types of shampoo. If you want a scientific explanation of the whole thing, look dandruff up on Wikipedia. But don't think it's your shampoos! If you use dandruff shampoo then stop, yes your dandruff will come back, sometimes worse. But if you keep treating it, such as using the Goody brush or using dandruff shampoo 3-5x a week, your dandruff will stay under control.
I'd recommend actually reevaluating the idea of shampoo, either looking to avoid certain ingredients within shampoos that may be causing problems or washing your hair without shampoo which is actually healthier for your hair and scalp. Dandruff is aggravated by excessive use of chemicals, tight-fitting hats, cold weather, central heating, and poor rinsing, it used to be linked to a yeast called Pityrosporum ovale, but chemicals used to kill this yeast failed to work so it's not the main cause but a symptom of dandruff 鈥?although many anti-dandruff shampoos still use chemicals to kill yeast. Anti-dandruff shampoos can also contain cytostatic chemicals such as zinc pyrithione and selenium sulfide that reduce rate of cell growth in the scalp, and keratolytic chemicals such as salicylic acid to loosen outer layers of skin on the scalp to reduce build-up of dead skin cells. So as you can see it's not exactly a cure for the problem and these chemicals can even have health risks 鈥?unhealthy scalp means dandruff, using unhealthy shampoo is hardly helpful.

Check ingredients in your shampoo -

A major cause of dandruff is actually shampoo itself, often dandruff is down to irritants used in shampoos, the most common being SLS and SLFS (sodium lauryl sulfate and sodium laureth sulfate) are what makes shampoo foam which are actually commonly used in clinical studies as a skin irritant 鈥?basically irritating your skin which can lead to dandruff. It's worth taking a look at your shampoos ingredients, if you don't know what's what then try typing the brand of shampoo or individual ingredients into the Skin Deep search engine http://www.ewg.org/reports/skindeep you'll be surprised what ingredients are actually skin irritants, it's worth trying to switch to products without certain ingredients to see if you may be sensitive or allergic to some of them. I used to suffer from dandruff, I'd used anti-dandruff shampoos but I'd either get the problem back when I switched to other shampoos or the anti-dandruff shampoos would actually make the problem far worse! So I had a try using shampoos without SLF and SLFS which cured the problem, although it is difficult as even some more 'natural' shampoos will still have these ingredients, I found the best shampoo to avoid these was Neal's Yard http://www.nealsyardremedies.com but there are plenty of companies out there that do toiletries with safer ingredients. If you do use anti-dandruff shampoos then either go for the common brands you can get anywhere such as Vosine, or see your doctor for something prescribed, a doctors opinion will also be helpful as they can tell you if it is just a simple case of dandruff or something more serious 鈥?if its red and sore it's likely to need medical treatment.

    Go shampoo-free -

A serious option to consider is going shampoo-free entirely, it's becoming a more and more popular thing to do because it leaves hair healthier (shiny, strong, soft and promotes growth), easier to manage, and you need to wash it less often to the point where it will never be greasy again. The advantage for dandruff suffers is not only does it get rid of potentially harmful effects of shampoo from irritating ingredients and drying of the scalp and hair, because apple cider vinegar is used this promotes circulation, regulates skins pH and is antiseptic. For the no-poo method you use one tablespoon baking soda to one cup of warm water, apply to your roots working it in and let it sit for a minute, this stimulates blood flow, cleans pores and gets off built-up grime, then rinse with two tablespoons of apple cider vinegar to one cup water, let it sit for a minute and then rinse out 鈥?apple cider vinegar is an exfolient so does the job of the ingredients in anti-dandruff shampoos in sloshing off dead skill cells from your scalp, it also promotes circulation, regulates skins pH and is antiseptic thus why it's often recommended for treating dandruff. Seriously, don't be scared to try going without shampoo, see http://www.noshampoo.org or the a well-known post http://babyslime.livejournal.com/174054.鈥?/a>

    Apple cider vinegar -

If you don't want to go shampoo-free then just try using the apple cider vinegar as a rinse to get it's benefits, try making a dandruff rinse by putting together half a cup of apple cider vinegar and half a cup of chopped mint leaves into a ceramic bowl then add one cup of boiling water, allow the mix to cool completely then strain out the mint leaves, then just keep it until you go into the bath or shower and use it to rinse your hair with after shampooing before then rinsing with cool water 鈥?FYI apple cider vinegar won't make you smell of vinegar, the smell goes as it dries. Or if you have an oily scalp mix together 2 tablespoons apple cider vinegar or lemon juice, 2 tablespoons of distilled water, 2 tablespoons olive oil, mix together and massage into your scalp, then leave for 20 minutes before shampooing. If you have a dry scalp then instead
sounds crazy but use mayo. the real kind not miracle Whip. only use like 3 tablespoons of it though on dry hair. work it into your scalp then wrap it with a towel. wait about 20 minutes then wash it out. not only will this moisturize your scalp but it will also leave your hair silky and smooth. try not to use to much though for it is a bit of a pain trying to rise out a ton of it. then just shampoo as usual! no need for a conditioner though for the mayo has the fat proteins that naturally condition your hair. good luck!

When using shampoo and conditioner, should I use equal amounts of each?

And how often should I wash my hair? When using shampoo and conditioner, should I use equal amounts of each?
You'll want to use more conditioner than shampoo. Shampoo expands and froths while conditioner just sits there. Make sure to put more on the ends than the root. Happy Cleansing! When using shampoo and conditioner, should I use equal amounts of each?
    Depends, depends, depends.

    If your hair is dry:

Less shampoo more conditioner; Wash every other day.

    If your hair is oily:

More shampoo, condition the ends only, wash every morning.

    If your hair is coarse/thick/long:

Wash every 3-4 days (you can get away with it) moderate shampoo use, heavy on the conditioner (leave-in if you must)

If your hair is thin or short:

Shampoo frequently, condition lightly, don't skip days...

    Did I miss anything???
well, it depends on your hair texture. i mean, i have seriously curly hair, so when i take a shower, i put a palm-full of shampoo, scrub, rinse, then repeat. i put conditioner in last, and when i do it i put probably a handful and a half. i rinse it out well, and i add some leave in conditioner.

you should deffidently take a shower everyday. [aha.] but i wash my hair every other day, unless i like go to volleyball practice or whatever. because its all sweaty and icky. but you shouldn't constantly wash your hair everyday, because it will make it flat.

but make sure you DO wash it everyother day, because its gross if you don't

    %26lt;33 hope it helped.
Yes/No, you should use more or less of the conditioner. It you hair is dry use more, if your hair is oily then use less and the same if your hair is normal. Same on how often you should wash your hair, but wash if less if dry and more if oily. On normal hair I would wash it 2 to 7 days a week, depends on how long your hair is. If long you should only wash it 2 to 4 days and for short hair you should 5 to 7 days. Hope this helps. My hair is very dry and I wash it 2 to 3 times a week, because it is long.
Depends on the length of your hair but I would say you probably dont need as much shampoo to wash your hair. Shampoo's can be drying. Conditioning is good for your hair especially if you blow dry/curl it/dye it. The naturals oil in your hair are good so you dont have to wash your hair daily.

Here are a couple recommendations if you do wash your hair daily:

Carol's Daughter Tui Herbal Shampoo (normal hair)

Bliss Lemon + Sage Supershine Shampoo (normal hair)

Jonathan Products Shampoo Add Moisture Moisturizing Shampoo (Dry hair)

Carol's Daughter Rosemary Mint Herbal Shampoo (Dry hair)
yes and I dont care what other ppl say blondes need conditioner!! And use alot of both!!
Um, you should use a little bit more conditioner depending on if your hair is tangely. But if not, yeah, you should use equal amounts. You should probably wash your hair like everyday or every other.
How often you wash your hair is up to you. Whenever your hair is greasy or dirty is good. While clean hair feels great, slightly 'dirty' hair is easier to style, so every other day or 3-4 times a weeks should be good.

I would say that you should use more shampoo than conditioner, because you just put conditioner on the ends of your hair and you massage shampoo into your scalp and the rest of your hair. Be warned: too much conditioner can result in oily hair.

    Hope this helps! =)
This really depends on your hair and length type. However that said, thicker long hair you don't have to wash as often cause it doesn't get dirty as quickly as fine hair does. For amounts of shampoos, you want to use a quarter amount , (really depending on hair) if you use too much it hard to rinse out and may cause greasy feeling hair that you need to wash more often the thing you were trying to prevent. You should use less conditioner for that same reason, also that conditioner ';stronger'; and meant to be used less often.
lol um I use more conditioner, my hair is long, shampoo spread better than conditioner so I dont have to use as much, as for how often it depends on your hair type i persdonally have to wash it everyday

  • Is it true that using a different shampoo than conditioner is bad for your hair?

cuz sometimes i use catwalk curls rock with head and shoulders or brilliant brunette. i heard using different brands for shampoo and conditioner is bad for your hair. is that true? if it is, what bad happens to your hair?Is it true that using a different shampoo than conditioner is bad for your hair?
It won't hurt anything. Hair products are basically the same anyway, so don't feel like you have to buy the most expensive product on the shelf, either. If you have to buy a salon product shampoo, but don't always use a conditioner, esp if your hair doesn't need conditioning every day, just buy one off the rack, so to speak. There are a lot of decent ones out there.

One thing you do want to do is switch shampoos every two weeks. Just use a different kind of shampoo for a couple of days--it will help. Is it true that using a different shampoo than conditioner is bad for your hair?
I don't think it's a problem. I use Frutise color shield shampoo and some kind of herbal conditioner from a different brand. My hair always brushes straight and bounces into it's wavy mess. If you like what you're using then just stick with it. It doesn't always matter.
It's not a problem. I do it all the time and have very healthy hair. The only thing to be careful about is that sometimes the different scents 'clash' with each other - a good rinsing (after the shampooing especially) helps reduce this issue.
no but it is illegal in 6 states to do that. check to make sure that you dont live in one of these states, and youll be ok

That's a good shampoo for oily hair - but for the flakes you might want to have a bottle of Head and Shoulders around so your scalp is hydrated. What shampoo is good for relaxed hair?

My hair is relaxed and I usually get my hair washed by this lady but I want to start washing my hair on my own. I tried V05 Extra Body Shampoo %26amp; Conditioning for the first time and it worked okay. My hair does look fuller. Should I stick to it? Also do I have to use Conditioning Treatment? What shampoo is good for relaxed hair?
When I had my hair relaxed I used shampoos with no sulfates

I only recommend two brands that have sulfates Pantene relax and natural ( pantene's whole line is great) neutragena triple moist products. Brand with no sulfates Giovanni there are many on the market find some and see hwo they work cream of nature ( green bottle ) is another favorite.

Sulfates dry the hair more and when we relax our hair it gets striped of proteins and moisture.

Do weekly hot oil treaments or deep conditionerWhat shampoo is good for relaxed hair?
Because it is relaxed, yes, you should use a deep conditioning treatment, I use this stuff called ';Crede';. For shampoos I can't recommend anything except use shampoos that are made for ';damaged hair'; only because they are very mild and won't strip your hair.

What is a really good strong smelling shampoo and conditioner?

What is the difference between dish soap, shampoo, and bar soap?

Dish soap is mainly a degreaser. Shampoo has a mild degreaser with different oils and perfume. Bar soap is mainly a coconut/ palm oil base with lye, color and fragrance. Try posting this topic on the science/chemistry heading and I bet you will get better answers. What is the difference between dish soap, shampoo, and bar soap?
Here's a web site that includes the ingredients. What is the difference between dish soap, shampoo, and bar soap?
Basically nothing, soap is soap, ingredients differ, more water in one, this color in another, this name brand on one, but the chemicals are the same. basically.
dish soap is used for washing dishes, shampoo is used for washing your hair (or skin), and bar soap is for washing your body/hands/face
Dish soap is usually in neon colors, bright green and yellow, red and orangs and blue -- shampoo is usually a dull color like light blue and white -- and bar soap -- well its a bar -- no bottle needed and can come in all sorts of fun shapes and sizes -- VOILA! The difference in the 3!
The basics are the same, its the proportions and additives.
dish soap is like the liquid soap you use to wash the dishes, shampoo is what you use to wash your hair and bar soap is what you use to bath with.

No, it doesn't work. Horse shampoo can even damage your hair when you have thin hair.
yes it does because when horse use the shampoo its suppose 2 make their fur or hair grow so they could look beautiful\

What do you think is the best shampoo to use?!?

I don't use conditioner, just shampoo. And I have to like get a shower every single day cuz my hair gets greasy looking... what should I use to make my hair looking soft and healthy?!What do you think is the best shampoo to use?!?
i like your hair it aint greesey and it always smells good! What do you think is the best shampoo to use?!?
I love using Aussie- it's cheap and keeps my hair soft and shinny. I read a trick a long time ago about combing your shampoo through your hair to make it super soft and as crazy as it sounds, it works. I comb the shampoo through my hair every morning and I always get compliments on how pretty and soft my hair is.
My hair gets really frizzy easily. For me, I need the Garnier Fructis Sleek n' Shine. In the shampoo, I've noticed that it leaves my hair feeling soft and especially clean. For someone, likes you who needs to wash it everyday you need something that doesn't dry it out. Good Luck!
I have the same problem. And I kept shampooing my hair and shampooing my hair and it just got worse, And then I read an article in a hair magazine that said I was drying my scalp out to much. So my scalp was working overtime to compensate for having NO natural oils by producing huge quantities of scalp oils. So I started to condition my hair twice a week just at the ends. Then work my way up to the top of my head with the conditioner. Now my hair and scalp are balanced out. Try using voluming products they have less goo to weigh down your hair. Hope this helps.:)
I am not a hair stylist or anything, but if you don't do conditioner, maybe getting a combo, like pert plus would help. I have extremely oily hair, and it seems to help me alot.
Make sure you're washing your hair thoroughly.

And I think that if you're not using conditioner, you might want to use a shampoo with a rich lather. I like Paul Mitchell Awapuhi.
first you shouldn't wash you hair every day..the best shampoo is garnier( fructis) shampoo..it leaves it soft and healthy also shiny..
i like tressame or however you spell it

I have wavy, kinda thick hair. its been falling out. i use pert plus 2 in 1 and i use the medium one but it makes my hair fall out i used the simply fresh one and it didnt fall out but then they didnt have anymore at the store so my hair is falling out from the medium one. is it the shampoo? or does it depend on the hair type? my hair gets oily after 3-4 days mostly 4. so do i have normal hair? What shampoo should i use and what type of hair do i have?
    You have coarse hair.

Use one brand of shampoo and conditioner that has low pH 4.5 or 5.4 and any other styling and or serum that you use to style your hair. Because that why the will provide you with better results. What shampoo should i use and what type of hair do i have?
it could be the shampoo. is your hair colored? i hate using 2 in 1 products because they majorly strip hair of its natural oils. pantene shampoo and conditioner work really well and make your hair super soft.

What shampoo and conditioner are best to use for hair that has just been bleached blonde but is affordable ?

i appreciate any answers but mostly products that are good but quite cheap and affordableWhat shampoo and conditioner are best to use for hair that has just been bleached blonde but is affordable ?
every week put some warm olive or coconut oil on your hair and leave it overnight, its very moisturising which is good becuase you have bleached your hair!

in the morning shampoo twice and then condtiion as usual. it works wonder.

john frieda for blonde hair is quite good, it made my hair stay lovely and blonde and it didint make it brassy either! they are about 拢5 a bottle and olive oil and coconut oil are cheap and last ages.

good luck! xxWhat shampoo and conditioner are best to use for hair that has just been bleached blonde but is affordable ?
use any shampoo/conditioner for either damaged or coloured hair

it will be hard for you to maintain healthy hair, after bleaching it.

because the bleaching process strips the hair

    but it is possible,

try not to over style it

    and try to condition frequently

    ummm

    tresemme works really well

    good luck

How about Garnier Fruictis? Its quite affordable. Buy the one with colour resist. My mom dyes her hair and shes using it right now. Lol. If that doesnt work than try other ones. But Garnier should be fine. It leaves your hair quite soft.!!
Trevor Sorbie Blonde Shampoo and Conditioner is by far the best I have ever used. Its not cheap but its worth the money and will last you a while. Roughly 4.55 a bottle I think
Well when i died my hair i used infusion 23, shampoo and conoditior and step 3 leave in treatment but uhm i payed 7 dollars for each but its really worth it.
Suave has a salon style shampoo and conditioner made especially for blonde hair. They are one of the cheapest brands available that still offer good quality.

The carpets weren't shampooed when we moved in (we did it ourselves because they were so dirty). He also didn't repaint any walls before the move-in. The place is already so much cleaner now than before and he is telling me I need to provide receipts from professional cleaners for both the windows and carpets. Can he do this? Can a landlord (California) demand that you shampoo the carpets and have the windows professionally cleaned?
You need to look at your lease, and your move-in inspection. There are a lot of questions that need to be answered before anyone can honestly answer that question. Do you have pictures from when you moved in, the judge loves to see dated pictures, like they say, a picture is worth a thousand words. Always do a move-in inspestion before you move anything in. Take pictures too. If that landlord does not like that , don't move in there. Talk to the courthouse and ask them who you can talk to about this, they have a special officer of the court that deals with this kind of problem.

Yes, you can be charged for the carpets , if they were done when you moved in, living there a year has nothing to do with it, you can live there 5 years and still be charged for cleaning. Normal wear and tear has nothing to do with a carpet being dirty, wear and tear , doesnt say anything about dirt, I get people trying to tell me that I have to replace the carpets between each tenant, bull, why would I buy 20 year carpets then. And the reason that they want them professionally cleaned is because people that do them themselves can either put too much soap in or not enough, and then they soak the carpet and not extract the water enough and it stays wet allowing mold or mildew. Professionals also spray the carpet for any type of mold or mildew.

Painting can be charged also with a yearly % being taken off, up to 6 years. I dont charge after 5.That's why I buy high quality paint. Otherwise I'd buy my paint at a swap meet. Windows being professionally cleaned is really pushing it, it is obvious, either they are clean or they are not.

Ive been in this buisness quite a few years so what I tell you is what I do, day to day. It's too bad that thier are landlords out there that do this to people and make us all look bad. I have several tenants that have moved out and yet they have moved back, so we are not all bad. I hope that this helps you. Also I am a member of C.A.A. , California Apartment Assoc. So my advice is, if you need legal advice get it from a legal representitive in your area, not off of the internet. You may get opinions that you may want to hear, but, that doesnt change the law.

P.S. I hope you put this guy in his placeCan a landlord (California) demand that you shampoo the carpets and have the windows professionally cleaned?
    Fight it,

California landlords get away with murder,

Do you have pictures OR did you do a walkthru check list before and after, If not hard to prove....

Been there got screwed by that before, NOw photo documentation before and after, RULES!
No, if I remember my California rental law-- you either have to leave it in the condition you got it, or just in a clean state. But I know that he CANNOT make you professionally clean it.

Tell him he'll hear from your lawyer or from the state of CA.
Nope. You are required to return the rental in the same condition it was delivered to you, minus any normal wear and tear.

He cannot require professional cleaning of the carpets or windows and he can't charge for painting if you were there more than a year.

Check with your local tenants council for details and you should be able to look up the codes (laws) on the Internet, or go buy the California tenant-landlord handbook by Nolo Press (you might find it at the library).

Hopefully you took pictures and completed and inspection inventory when you moved in. (I've learned to do this the hard way) AND when you move out DEMAND that you walk through together. Take pictures beforehand (make sure he knows you have them) and a video while you walk through together. Ask him to sign off on the walk through list and get a copy immediately (take a photo if he can't copy on the spot, or be prepared with carbon paper).

Usually once they know you're not going to put up with any crap, they back down. The courts usually favor the tenants in CA.
It depends on what it says on your lease.
reread your contract....if it wasn't stated there, then you don't need to do it....but usually tenants is required to shampoo, clean their windows, n repaint walls to original color before they leave... if you don't do this, your landlord will take the expenses off your deposit....in other words, you lose your deposit.
If you want to get your deposit back, and you don't feel like getting in a fight over it, get a fake receipt. You must know somebody who knows somebody in the biz. good luck.

Head and Shoulders really does work for dandruff. I use that once a week just to thoroughly clean my hair. As far as frizzy hair, Garnier Fructise has shampoos and conditioners specific to types of hair.
head and shoulder's frizz controll i think it is the pink one i'm not sure but it's the best way to go if you have dandruff and frizz.
I would recommend Head %26amp; Shoulders Smooth %26amp; Silky Shampoo and Dry Scalp Care Conditioner. I would say to get the shampoo and conditioner in one (Smooth %26amp; Silky variety), but it sounds like you need a little more conditioner to tone down the frizz. Good luck, hon!
Selsun Blue is the best but you should really get a deep scalp conditioner once it makes a huge difference and I use V05 product and I have the curliest hair being Puerto Rican and all...My mom and lil Sis both do hair and this is what works for me Good luck!
i recomend Herbal Essences frizz releaser. it is what i use. but if ypou have dandruff, i would use pert. or selson blu.
Herbal Essence is the way to go for frizz, but for dandruff i would sugesst using Head %26amp; Shoulders.

Poor skin condition is usually diet related , try changing dog food to a good quality dog food or their could be something not agreeing with your dog in his present food . Zinc deficiency can cause skin and coat problems , I would give your dog a good mineral supplement ';twice a week

    ';{they do not need it daily because the body has the ability to store most minerals}

also add fish oil to his diet daily . Hope this helps .

  • Which shampoo should I use for curly hair?

my hair gets really frizzy when i dont put anything on it. its thick.

does pantene work?Which shampoo should I use for curly hair?
Yes it works....the other kind i like is nexus, but pantene is cheaper....for thick, frizzy hair use Proclaim glossing polish, and a little gel. YOu can get it at Sallys Beauty SupplyWhich shampoo should I use for curly hair?
go to devachan.com and search for their no-poo shampoo. It's made especially for curly hair becuase the detergents in normal shampoo (what makes it foam) dry out your hair. I use it. Its amazing. Its like a shampoo but it makes ur hair soft. I gaurantee you will LOVE it. I do.

You should get your hair cut by them too. Devachan Salon in NYC.
    Herble Essence.

They have great hair products for straight and curly hair, at and ah-some price. Also, you could try Aussie ( purple container) No Frizz spray.

    Good luck!
you should avoid store bought products because they have a lot of alcohol in them which damages/dries out your hair, thus leading to frizzy hair in the long run. splurge a few dollars and buy quality products. try the curl life line from matrix, i love the shampoo/conditioner and the lite creme. great for frizz!
i dont know i really dont know what would work

Is shampoo rlly necassary when theres conditioner?

So I was just wondering, y do we need shampoo, when there is conditioner? Like shampoo cleans ur hair, but conditioner cleans ur hair, detangles it, and makes it feel smoother. So wats the point of shampoo if conditioner does wat shampoo does but even more?Is shampoo rlly necassary when theres conditioner?
Conditioner doesn't clean, it just puts a layer of goop over your hair. You remove this residue the next time you shampoo.

So, yes, shampoo is absolutely necessary. Is shampoo rlly necassary when theres conditioner?
Conditioner doesn't clean your hair very well at all.

The purpose of shampoo is to remove all of the oils and impurities from your hair.

If you just use conditioner, you will have a lot of buildup and really oily hair.
Conditioner conditions your hair.It does not really clean it. In fact, feel your hair. Most conditioners feel more like they coat your hair. It really needs shampoo to clean it.Always make sure your hair is rinsed really well.
Conditioner doesn't really ';clean'; your hair. It softens, conditions, and detangles it. Shampoo cleans and purifies your hair in a way conditioner can't. :)
the detergents in shampoo open the cuticle to thoroughly cleanse it, and conditioner fills them in to nourish any damage.
i dont think conditioner really cleans hair properly

if it doesnt then why not

Which shampoo should I get Garnier Fructis or Herbal Essences?

I have really Dry Frizzy hair and Dandruff.

My hair is asian black and should length layers.

and I LIKE a good scent and shine and controlled

so which shampoo is best?Which shampoo should I get Garnier Fructis or Herbal Essences?
I would switch between the 2 every month, I think Garnier would be better for dry hair though, it helps produce natural oils(use conditioner!)Which shampoo should I get Garnier Fructis or Herbal Essences?
Definitely Herbal Essences. I use it and I have VERY frizzy hair. I also have a dandruff problem and the only way that gets better, for me at least, is if I wash my hair really good and remember not to EVER itch my head no matter how itchy it gets. My hair is also about shoulder-length and in layers. I try to use a little hairspray sometimes to get rid of the frizz. It also smells soooooo good and it gives a great shine without it looking oily. I get compliments quite often. I'm sure you would too.

    = )
    Neither.

Store bought shampoos especially like those have oils and chemicals in them that actually strip your hair and damage it even more than it already is.

you are better off getting a salon quality shampoo structured to your hair type. You will have better results in a lot quicker time and you will definitely be able to tell the difference. Its not that much more expensive anyway a lot of mall salons have deals as well as walmarts and beauty supply stores.
    Herbal Essences.

It smells really nice, and I think it makes your hair shiny, but not greasy, like some L'Oreal shampoos do. But I would get Head And Shoulders, it smells really nice and stops dandruff.
if you have to get a drugstore shampoo/conditioner i recommend loreal vive pro hydra gloss.
    herbal essences LOVE IT!!

If I wash my hair with blue shampoo for blonde hair will it make the purple in my hair fade faster?

No. It'll probably make it worse because purple and blue aren't too far off in hue. What's the purple from? A purple shampoo? Dye? Blonde/ash toner? Your best bet is just to wash it with hot, hot water and regular shampoo. It'll fade.

What shampoo and heat protector should i get......?

I dont know what kind to get! It needs to be a drugstore brand. Here is what i do to my hair-

    shampoo 2x's

    condition

    towel dry parcitally

    fizz controll (dove)

    straightening mouse

    voulumising spray gel

    straighten

and i deep condition a few times a week.

I am up for anything, i would like it to make my hair smell nice. What shampoo and heat protector should i get......?
these are products i use %26amp; love

-it makes your hair really soft and smooth

    hair protector/heat-

    http://www.target.com/CHI-Guard-Thermal-鈥?/a>

-i use this everyday, and it works miracles !What shampoo and heat protector should i get......?
I straighten my hair 2x's a day and my hair is in amazing condition.. what i do is use at least two different shapoos and conditioners a month.. its good to mix it up. Herbal Essance ';Hello Hydration'; is very good especially since you straighten your hair, and it smells really good to. Also, if you go to a salon, you should buy ';Silky Sexy Hair'; it makes your hair really soft and makes your hair look and feel very healthy. This is important since straightening your hair is really bad for you. It is really good that you deep condition your hair beucase it repairs your hair from all the damage. Also, you should put on a heat protector before straightening it becuase it will help you hair from heat damage and drying out. It will also help it smell good.

    Hope this helps :)
get NEXXUS shampoo/conditioner. it's REALLY good if u have dry hair. u can also get TRESemme it comes in the black and white bottle and is huge. it's cheaper than all the shampoo/conditioner in the aisle. it works great too. get the smooth and silky one. BUT IF U DO NOT HAVE DRY HAIR, get SUNSILK shampoo/conditioner. it makes ur hair soft and silky for normal hair and for dry hair.

all these shampoo/conditioner work FANTASTIC for me.

    EDIT:

oh yea i forgot to mention, u don't really need heat protection, to tell u the truth, becuz u deep condition ur hair a few times a week anyways.
    alrighty lets get started:

anything from herball essences is good. except for body envy

What shampoo/conditioiner should i use to make my hair longer?

my hair is a little below my shoulders and i want it longer. what should i use or if u know any home remedies please tell me! i want my hair longer in time for a wedding. what should i do? please help!!!What shampoo/conditioiner should i use to make my hair longer?
My hair used to grow EXTREMELY slow then I went to a new hairdresser and she told me it was because the shampoos I was using were leaving a residue on my hair shaft. She had me switch shampoos and start using Paul Mitchell Clarifying Shampoo Number 3 and ever since then my hair has been growing very fast. It also made my hair more shiny and healthy looking. What shampoo/conditioiner should i use to make my hair longer?
Shampoo/conditioner won't effect your length. Taking Biotin is supposed to help though.
Doogro they say it's for all hair types it works good for my hair.
try straigntening conditioners or shampoos it will say it on ther bottle. there are even pills you can take that give your hair lots of nutrients or something, liek hair vitimins. i don't knwo any specific brands of shampoo and conditioner though

  • Is it true when you use baby shampoo for your hair it grows faster?

is it true n if yes how long will it take ur hair 2 grow from your shoulder to your elbow? Is it true when you use baby shampoo for your hair it grows faster?
no nothing will make your hair grow faster. there is a product line called nioxin, its for fine or thinning hair, it actually helps clean out your hair follicle so that the hairs that stopped growing from them can start growing back. but it wont make it grow faster.

Which shampoo is the best for your hair between these store bought kinds?

Loreal Vive, Garnier, or Dove?Which shampoo is the best for your hair between these store bought kinds?
Garnier is WAY better than those but the best that makes your hair extra soft Pantee. You might want to buy Pantee.Which shampoo is the best for your hair between these store bought kinds?
Garnier. It smells the best makes your hair feel fresh, fruity, and soft. I use the conditioner to because i have thick knotty hair. Loreal Vive made my hair feel greasy and it left it knotty even with multiple rinses and repeats with conditioner. I believe that dove is okay.
    Garnier for sure!

    One it smells amazing!

Two it works wonderful is you want to buy a good but not too expensive shampoo.

Three don't buy the two and one stuff, it doesn't condition your hair.

Always buy shampoo and conditioner separate.
    garnier.

i use it and it makes my hair so smooth, i don't need to use conditioner. =]

    =]

    plus; it smells fruity. =]
loreal by far i think its amazing xx garnier actually is more known for tan and dove for deoderant and shower gel
neither i use herbal essence i have thick dark brown hair which is long and it makes it extra shiny because its already shiny and it also makes it soft
    Any of these are good.

What do you think of Pureology Hydrate shampoo and conditioner?

I think I have asked this before but the beauty supply store near me is going out of business and everything is 50% off... so I think even though it will be like $70 for the two liters it might be worth it!!!??

Let me know what you think. I have fine color treated hair. What do you think of Pureology Hydrate shampoo and conditioner?
Pureology is an amazing line, but I'm afraid you might be buying the wrong formula. If you have fine color treated hair, you should get the Purevolume not the Hydrate. The Hydrate will weigh your hair down too much %26amp; make it look even more fine/limp. I would only recommend that if your hair was bleached/colored %26amp; very dry.

As for the price $70 for both liters is a good price.

How can i make my hair grow longer and faster? Is there any special shampoo? or maybe even a cream of some sor

Use coconut oil or olive oil, I m sure your hair will grow very faster..

(plzz choose my answer as best becoz I neen to get level 2)How can i make my hair grow longer and faster? Is there any special shampoo? or maybe even a cream of some sor
    Hi

The best thing to take is actually just multi vits. Yours hair refelcts your hair - so if you are healthy your hair is too and will therefore grow faster and stronger.

You can buy vitamins for healthy hair etc but its basically just marketing so just go for multi vits.

Another trick is when you put on your shampoo massarge your sculp... it helps the blood flow which stimulates the hair growth so will help.

XHow can i make my hair grow longer and faster? Is there any special shampoo? or maybe even a cream of some sor
comb your hair often . i heard it helps . trim your ends often too . cos else it will develop split ends and stop the growth .

go to your local drugstore and ask the sales person weather they have that kinda shampoo .. ( shld have ) and another alternative is you can get some extensions done . or if you wan , get some clip on hair extensions that allows you to get long hair when ever you want to . (:
nothing will make your hair grown super fast

    vitamins will help a little

    trimming will help

    and treatments

keep your hair haealthy (use something like redken cat every week)

and tie it up,not too tight for 6 months.

your hair grows around 1cm a month, 1 inch in two months, so it does take time I'm afraid

Or you can get hair extensions!

Is it ok to change our hair shampoo as well as face foam regularly?

Do both give side effects? Meaning that if I change my hair shampoo to other brand, after one year for example.

Does it give effects for my hair?

My face foam too either..Is it ok to change our hair shampoo as well as face foam regularly?
Actually, you're SUPPOSED to change your shampoo every once in a while. It's better for your hair, and it keeps it really soft. Like once a year? Nah, buy two different kinds of shampoos or whatever, and use one shampoo one week, and use the second the second week.

  • Is Herbal Essence shampoo any good or is it damaging?

And does it have lots of chemicals in it?Is Herbal Essence shampoo any good or is it damaging?
Herbal essence shampoos contain alot of chemicals...some good...some not so good. The shampoos that you buy in the stores usually have a high content of alcohol in them which is very drying to the scalp. They also contain alot of waxes....in my salon we show people this by carefully scraping at the hair with shears. There is such a big build up of wax you can definately see. They usually are disgusted and end up buying the professional products in the salon. Professional products are a bit pricier but you get what you pay for.Is Herbal Essence shampoo any good or is it damaging?
it's good and is heavly scented i have the body envy in travel size prety good and it does works i'll tell you that but i think im going to try pantene as well but it dryed my hair out just alittle bit that 's it but i'd try it out if i were you
I use it regularly, and I don't have any problems with it.
i use it regularly and i love it. it makes my hair so soft and shiny! idk what everyone else is talking about. i guess it depends on your hair type though.
It depends on where you bought it. You don't want any of that generic stuff.
anything that is as heavily scented as that is not good for your hair... I have used that before and it made my hair so dry and gross! I recommend Redken products.
BAD FOR THE HAIR GOOD FOR THE NOSE. IF YOU TRULY WANT SUMTHING TO MAKE YOUR HAIR HEALTHIER YOU HAVE TO GO TO A HAIR SALON AND GET THE EXPENSIVE KIND. TRUST . ALL THE HAIR PRODUCTS THAT YOU GET FROM THE GROCERY STORE DRUG STORE HAVE WAYYYY TO MANY SUBSTITUTES.
well i think that it is not the best for you hair

It does have a lot of chemicals in it

I have noticed that when i use it it makes my hair frizz

    so i changed my products

I also have curly hair and that plays a huge role

but if you have curly hair i would use ouidad

    now thats an amazing product

I have used them for the past year and i don't think i will ever go back to Herbal Essence
That depends on your hair type. As for chemicals I don't have a clue.

What kind of shampoo or hair product do I use?

    this should work

http://www.drugstore.com/products/prod.a鈥?/a>What kind of shampoo or hair product do I use?
try head and shoulders 2 in 1. you don't need dandruff to use it and it will make your hair thicker and a little coarser

Is it okay to wash my hair with no shampoo?

Because i hear using shampoo everyday might cause hair loss.Is it okay to wash my hair with no shampoo?
hahahahaha............. i think u do not use one brand product. you may lost Ur hair if u change your brand many times. Is it okay to wash my hair with no shampoo?
People do go without using products in their hair when washing it. Your hair has natural oils in it that keep it clean when washed with just water. It takes your hair time to adjust, but we all did it for thousands of years before shampoo came along.

I haven't heard of the hair loss thing. Can I suggest not washing it with battery acid or the like.
    it cant cause hair loss.

although washing it every day suposedly strips it of natural oils, vitamins and minerals,

which can dry out your hair and make it weak/unhealthy.

you should really wash it every other day, or 4-5 days a week.

lol, and how do you WASH your hair without shampoo? =)
Yes, I was told your hair produces natural oil and shouldn't be overly shampooed. If your worried about hair loss the best tip is showering with cold water. Hot water is a big no no. But do shampoo every other day, not shampooing at all is unsanitary
So what are you gonna use instead then?!?

    Just water?

Simply wash your hair every other day if you're genuinely concerned about hair loss.
I shampoo my hair everyday, but keep in mind that there once was a time when shampoo didn't exist. If you are concerned about the chemicals then I would suggest using an all natural formula. Check out http://www.naturalorganichaircare.com
so you just want to get wet and not really take a shower? Since you're already there, wash your hair even if you cut back on the shampoo. As usual, wash your bods.
hahha lolz HOW CAN YOU WASH THE GREASE AND **** OUT OF YOUR HAIR IF THERE WAS NO SHAMPOO ITS LIKE CLEANING THE CARPET WITHOUT A VACUUM!! it does and causes nitts just wash it every second day( BUT TAKE YOUR NORMAL SHOWER EVERYDAY)
sure... another good remedy is using black tea -

    :) xx
yeah it's ok, if u don't mind it smelling bad and not really being clean...
no. dumb *** then theres no point of washing your hair
    yea..its true...

no need to wash your hair with shampoo everyday...

just 3times a week its ok....

Im such a germaphobic, Im scared to wash the shampoo out of my hair because I fear it will get dirty.?

what should i do to help this?Im such a germaphobic, Im scared to wash the shampoo out of my hair because I fear it will get dirty.?
doesn't it feel dirty with the shampoo in it ?

see a psychiatrist , your phobia can be treated. you probably have other ones you didn't mention Im such a germaphobic, Im scared to wash the shampoo out of my hair because I fear it will get dirty.?
As far as I know... shampoo is not an antibacterial/disinfectant so it really shouldn't matter. It doesn't kill germs. But I agree with the person before me. Leave the shampoo in and it gets gross. I bet trying style it is pretty hard, too.
go see a doctor for tht problem and btw.... lice ya know those lil mites tht live in some peoples hair r actually attracted to clean hair not dirty hair. so wash ur hair once a day and rinse the shampoo out and ull b safer than not washing it out and if u dont wash it out u will leave all sorts of gunk and residue in ur hair which is gross and unhealthy.

Is there a shampoo for colored treated hair AND dandruff treatment in one??

You can only find shampoo for colored treated hair, but if you have dandruff its a problem. Because the dandruff shampoo washes the color out. I have never seen the combination dandruff shampoo and colored treated shampoo. Have you?Is there a shampoo for colored treated hair AND dandruff treatment in one??
head and sholders have new ones out just for colour treated hair, and there whole range is anti-dandruffIs there a shampoo for colored treated hair AND dandruff treatment in one??

  • For a guy, what is the best hair shampoo if your going to use a flat iron, and if you have really frizzy hair?

My hair is frizzy : \ and i'm going to be using a flat iron, and i heard using a flat iron could REALLY damage your hair, And i don't want to damage my hair any more. Can you guys suggest a hair shampoo that you don't have to get at the salons and that you can find at like a wal mart or walgreens?

-thanks in advancedFor a guy, what is the best hair shampoo if your going to use a flat iron, and if you have really frizzy hair?
I use a flat iron everyday, so I shampoo with Sunsilk's straighten-up (purple bottle) because it makes it a lot easier to straighten and Sunsilk's hydrating conditioner (pink bottle) to keep it healthy.

What is in head and shoulders 'Ocean Lift' Shampoo?

I think i'm allergic to the head and shoulders ocean lift, because every time i use it, it burns my neck and anywhere it touched. I know i have seasonal allergies, but is there any chance I could be allergic to some ocean thing inside the shampoo? Also, i've heard rumors about head and shoulders causing hair loss, and discolouration, is there any truth to that? What is in head and shoulders 'Ocean Lift' Shampoo?

    I don't know...

You asked what i've been doing to get it to grow -

I've been taking vitamin supplement and eating lots of iron and vitamin B.

I massage my scalp to increase blood flow when i'm in the shower, and I put olive oil on my hair to keep it oily (because I bleached my hair and its wrecked)

Hope this helped (even though its not an answer to THIS question.. :P)Where can you buy main and tail horse shampoo?
Mane and Tail is available at Tractor Supply, Southern States, Ebay, almost anywhere.
Surprisingly, i have seen Main and tail shampoo at wal-greens in the shampoo isle.
just brought me some at Sally's Beauty Salon for $4.99 a piece! and saw some for $3.00 at a Family Dollar Store! ha wish I had gone there first!
I've seen it at farm supply stores.

What is ';aqua'; in the ingredients on my shampoo bottle?

In the ingredients list of my Johnson %26amp; Johnson no more tears shampoo, the first ingredient is ';Aqua';.

    What's with that?

    What does it mean?

    Is it water?

If so, why don't they just say, ';Water';?What is ';aqua'; in the ingredients on my shampoo bottle?
Yes, it's water. Maybe they wanted to go by the more scientific name, who knows. You'll be surprised that many of these ingredients that you see will have scientifc names that are hard to pronounce, but hopefully most people will know that water and aqua are the same. Liquidum is another name for mineral oil and you could see either one of those names in the ingredients list. What is ';aqua'; in the ingredients on my shampoo bottle?
    WATER. AHAH IDK

Does mixing shampoo make u lose your hair?

I read a magazine that said that you can mix shampoos to get a certain scent or to make it go with your hair type. Then I heard from other people that mixing them makes you lose hair/bald. Experiences etc. would help a lot. thanx.Does mixing shampoo make u lose your hair?
Shampoo is soap which uses bases to clean the dirt and oils off the hair. Mixing shampoos would not make those bases any stronger and they are all pretty mild. If mixing shampoos made you loose your hair you would definitely be hearing alot more about it on the news and there would be warnings on the bottles.

Maybe those people were using special prescription shampoos used for lice or other problems and misused them. Or maybe those people are just plain crazy.Does mixing shampoo make u lose your hair?
No =] I mix them all the time. I'm not bald yet, nor do I have excessive hair loss :P Go to your local hair salon and ask for further information :]

Best drugstore shampoo that cleans as well as Pantene?

I use pantene to wash my hair because it does just that, it cleans my hair and it feels clean. However i read bad things about pantene. So i want a shampoo that cleans as well as pantene i can find in the drugstore. Please do not tell me to go to a salon, because...I wont.

So which shampoo cleans as well as Pantene?Best drugstore shampoo that cleans as well as Pantene?
okay i love pantene to although i use other shampoos and these makes work wonders on my hair (* avalible at a drug store)

    loreal *

    auusie*

matrix (avaliable online and at salons)

    wash and go *

sunsilk *Best drugstore shampoo that cleans as well as Pantene?
Loreal seems to me to be one of the best, I know salons are always recommending their products but I don't really think they are any better than store bought products. I have tried Trevor Sorbet shampoo and conditioner and it didn't seem any better than the others.

When I colour my hair with Loreal products I always notice how great their after colour conditioner works so that is why I would recommend their stuff, have fun.
i use suave and it works real good. i personally would recommend baby shampoo because not only does it clean good but it also makes your hair soft and fresh. but i doubt youll use that so i would say suave works best.
    Tresemme
