I used to have dandruff, then I heard about tea tree oil. You can get a 2 ounce jar for 5 dollars from Target or Wal-Mart, in the vitamin section. When I pour shampoo into my palm to wash my hair, I add a few drops of tea tree oil and mix it together with the shampoo. I do this every time I shampoo, which is daily. Tea tree oil is an anti-fungal, which is why it works on dandruff.
Your scalp may also be dry. You can apply olive oil, shea butter, or coconut oil to your scalp and leave on it on overnight. Do this once a week. Shampoo it out in the morning. You can find shea butter in the African American section of a drugstore, or a natural food store. You can get coconut oil at an East Indian store, or natural food store. Coconut oil is great stuff, it leaves your hair shiny and stronger after you use it. I can't find coconut oil in this town, so I use a product from the African American section of a drug store called Organic Root Stimulator Olive Oil. It's in a green bottle, and one of it's main ingredients is coconut oil.
Complicated, but this routine has virtually cured the dandruff I've had for years. I hope I have been a help. :)Any suggestions for a good Dandruff shampoo?
Remember that everyone is different, what may work for them may not work for you.
I had a problem with dandruff and I tried just about every kind of shampoo I could think of. I ended up getting Paul Mitchell's tea tree shampoo. It's a bit pricey, but it works and you only need a LITTLE bit and you don't use it everyday, you use it once or twice a week, so it will last forever. You use that then after that you wash your hair out with regular shampoo. It's really good and your hair will be healthier as well.
umm..i think selsun blue?
selsun blue
i use Garnier Fructis. its not a dandruff shampoo but it really helps. be sure you buy the conditioner that goes with the shampoo and massage that into your scalp. it makes your hair really soft too.
I have the same problem with dandruff, Head and Shoulders works for me though, you should try Selsen Blue and White Rain.

Check on line, but try DOO GOOD or just ask your doctor to recommend something. you may need a prescription.
---ok---here is the best dandruff shampoo ----PERIOD! It is called Themadan made by Thermafuse out of north carolina. They have a website to find a salon near you who has it. Stuff is incredibe, and besides, it smells like spearmint, not tar. Will get rid of it----PROMISE!!!
maybe you're just too stressed that is why any shampoo wont work. You see, dandruff can be cause of too much stress. Then try using virgin coconut oil on your hair 30 minutes to 1 hour before showering. You can use any shampoo that you like (just rinse it off very well). This will not only make your scalp healthy, your hair will also look good too. Just check out the local store for available virgin coconut oil
Selsun Blue
Put olive oil through your hair then wrap it with plastic wrap. Let it stay in and use a blow drier to warm it up. Leave in for 1/2 an hour then wash the oil out with a mild shampoo until the oil is out. let ur hair air dry and brush gently. Ur hair should be soft and shiney
This is gonna sound crazy, but my daughter has terrible dandruff. I use mayonnaise on her scalp and hair. I put it on and wrap it in a towel for 20 minutes or so. Then shampoo with Head %26amp; Shoulders like normal. I also use a Head and Shoulders Conditioner for her, but you may not need that. Mayonnaise is cheap so it's worth a try for you. Good Luck!
Anything with Zerconium Zinc should work, if not go see a dermatologist you need something that only they can perscribe you.
try Nizoral
Pert Plus works great.
i use head and shoulders, the silky black one... it really works for me... i think u need to ask some specialist in the field, go meet a doc ;)
i don't know what it is called but it is in a green bottle but it smells gross but work HELLA great
Basically your scalp needs moisture. I know this sounds gross but mix a cup of mayonaise in with your shampoo and it will work. Use hellmans because it is real mayonaise. I swear this works.
nexxus makes a product called dandarest that works really well and so does paul mitchell tea tree shampoo and conditioner you can get those at any salon and they are inexpensive.
