It seems like there are so many chemicals in the supermarket brands........what is a great natural brand? What is the best organic natural shampoo/conditioner?
I like Jason as well - but my favorite is Avalon - lemon and verbena :) MMMM it smeeeeellllllllssss soooooo sooo good :)What is the best organic natural shampoo/conditioner?
Cream and hot water!
I buy Jason brands...I find them in the natural food section of most supermarkets and it works great. It's safe for color-treated hair as well (something I need!).
well good 'organic' ones are on this website http://www.mountainroseherbs.com/hair/ha鈥?/a>
dr.haushka.com also has great ones
I love Burt's Bees Super Shiny shampoo and conditioner. Although the shampoo is a bit harder to lather (considering that it does not contain sodium laureth sulfate or other harsh detergents), it works wonderfully. It really does do what the product claims-- it makes my hair sooo shiny. It also smells good- very citrusy. The conditioner is not very hydrating (its thinner than other conditioners) but it detangles well and does a decent job in moisturizing my hair.
I also think that Dessert Essence is pretty good too.

What's the BEST SALON quality shampoo for volume?
My hair is usually volume, but now it's growing out and getting a bit thinner and flatter. I need a very good quality shampoo that can give me more volume and body to my flat hair. But something that won't dry out my hair of cause frizziness. I especially need volume on top. So what's the best salon quality volumizing shampoo you have ever used?
Thanks guys :)What's the BEST SALON quality shampoo for volume?

i really recommend tigi catwalk 'sexed up' thickening shampoo and conditiner. its the best ive ever used and is quite cheap and you can buy it from lots of salons or online for about $10.99 / 拢10 a bottle but its totally worth the pricetag because it really added thickness and volume to my hair and the conditioner doesnt weigh down your hair. heres a picture so you know what it looks like

What is the best kind of shampoo for think hair?
okay so i have really thick, wavy brown hair. is there any shampoo that really makes it feel thinner or make it more straight? i really hate having to straighten it everyday but i don't like it when its wavy. What is the best kind of shampoo for think hair?

Well it's great to have thick hair and it looks more fuller so I will stick to the thick hair. But there is this Pantene shampoo that helps make hair straight.
3 minute miracle works really well with my thick hair!
I like redken.
Don't use pantene, it leaves a waxy residue in your hair that only a stylist can strip out.

using wen (fig), its a cleansing conditioner, so you don't get the harsh effects of shampoo and all the greatness of a good conditioner. However, it is a little pricey... so, I would not get it from the 30$ website because it comes with a subscription (unless thats what you want). The next best thing is Tresemme...in my opinion.skin creams

Is Sergeants flea, tick, and lice shampoo good for me to use on my cat?
I also want to know if their flea spray is good.Is Sergeants flea, tick, and lice shampoo good for me to use on my cat?
Sergeants! Meh! Bleck!
Yes, if you don't use them properly they can be dangerous to your little fuzzy.
No, I would not recommend it.
Why? Because when I was a poor (as in $$) pet parent, I tried all the stuff you can get off the shelf in a walmart or pet store. No no bad!
The BEST stuff to use on cats contains fipronil. Frontline is recommended by my vet, and all 5 of my current cats. More information: http://frontline.us.merial.com/products/index.asp
The second best stuff to use contains pyrethrins. It's not as strong, and doesn't do quite the damage to fleas that fipronil does, but it's what I use on my gerbils, and it keeps the gerbs flea free when we have an outbreak with the cats. (Price you pay when you live in a cat-friendly neighborhood - lots of flea carrying visitors on the window sills) A good example of this is: http://www.drsfostersmith.com/Product/Prod_Display.cfm?pcatid=11178%26amp;N=2007+113626
Best place to get frontline if you don't want to go to a vet, AND get more information about tons of pet-related things? http://www.drsfostersmith.com. I get most of my pet supplies from them, and they have a good selection and good help from actual vets when you're shopping. Is Sergeants flea, tick, and lice shampoo good for me to use on my cat?
Please don't use Hartz or Sergeants. Not only are they mostly innefective but their VERY harsh and dangerous to use on pets. Get your cat on a monthly flea treatment such as Advantage or Frontline. If you do that the spray isn't necessary. Treat your carpets with 20 Mule Team Borax, found at grocery stores in most laundry aisles, and strip down and wash all beddings - yours AND the pets.
I think it's a very good product. I've used their products on all of my animals. I've had both cats and dogs and I've never had a problem using it.

Where can you buy Garnier Fructis Shampoo and Conditioner in the Philippines?
I can't find it anywhere!Where can you buy Garnier Fructis Shampoo and Conditioner in the Philippines?
Try checking at Watsons, sometimes they have US brand products that are not available for sale at mass merchandisers (SM, Robinsons, etc.).Where can you buy Garnier Fructis Shampoo and Conditioner in the Philippines?
I use it and buy mine at Gaisano/Pacific Mall here in our province.
When I was in Manila, it's available at Watson's and Rustan's in Metro Mall in EDSA. I can't recall if I purchased one at MOA's Hypermarket.

I gave my dog a bath and now he is itching himself and sneezing like crazy, is it from the dog shampoo?
Should I get different shampoo? Also, is this why he has so much dandriff?I gave my dog a bath and now he is itching himself and sneezing like crazy, is it from the dog shampoo?
What did yo use. Human shampoo, flea tick shampoo is extremity harsh especially Harts or Sargent's/ Bath her again with a good DOG oatmeal Sampo or mellaluca oil shampooI gave my dog a bath and now he is itching himself and sneezing like crazy, is it from the dog shampoo?
You have to rinse several times, any soap residu on the skin will make the dog very very itchy.
The more you bathe a dog, the drier the coat gets because you're stripping oils out of it.
I would either find a website or a book about canine dermatology, rather than seeking such information from a casual chat site like YA.
maybe hes allergic to it when he gets over it and you have to bathe him again see if he does the same thing again and if so then ask your vet what shampoo you should use on yout dog
possibly. wash it off of it as soon as you can. try oatmeal shampoo, its good for the skin.
wash him off, don't put anything else on him, but rinse him again and make sure you get it all out.
Could be. Try oatmeal shampoo.
Probably from the shampoo. I use Seltzen Blue dandruff shampoo on my Cocker Spaniel, and it seems to have cures most of his itching. Plus, dogs like to smell like dogs, the shampoo makes him smell like a human, and by rubbing himself, he is trying to restore the dog smell.

What would be a great shampoo for taking care of permed semi-curly-wavy hair?
also..my hair is black and normally sleek and shiny when naturally straight so if i use pantene now with waves my hair puffs up so I need something that will give it a nice spring. What would be a great shampoo for taking care of permed semi-curly-wavy hair?
There are shampoos out in the market specifically made for permed and wavy hair. Look at the fine prints and check out if it has a balsam or conditioner sold with it. But permed and wavy hair tends to be dry and brittle so do not shampoo every so often- conditioners and balsam will help in managing your hair. Also, do not dry your hair with a hot hair dryer- a fanor air drying will do. The point here is to retain the moisture of your hair and scalp so you will not develop split ends. A visit to the parlor with a hot oil treatment will also help- yunesa@yahoo.comWhat would be a great shampoo for taking care of permed semi-curly-wavy hair?
First off pantene has ingredients that are the same as a floor cleaner. I don't think you want that on your hair. You need something professional that is close to the pH of your hair in order to get what you want. Second, you need something that will give you volume, but not too much to look frizzy. I would highly suggest matrix curl life collection. Other lines that I would use are Aquage, Back to Basics, or Paul Mitchell. Good luck
I like Sunsilk

Hairstylists Only! What do you think is the best kind of Clarifying Shampoo?
I am also a hairstylist, but I just wanted some other people's opinions. I use hairspray almost every day, and it seems like it doesn't get washed out with the shampoo I use now. I use Aquage.Hairstylists Only! What do you think is the best kind of Clarifying Shampoo?

actually you dont need a clarifying shampoo to get the same results as two tsp of baking soda mixed with your shampoo. Make sure you are only shampooing your scalp so do not pile hair on your head during washing. this can resault to hair breakage. also after any clarifying please be sure do deeply condition your hair due to the drying effects of clarifying.

What shampoo is best for coloured hair?
My hair is short, coloured brown (my natural colour, minus the greys I'm getting), quite thick and tends to get greasy easily. What shampoo is best for coloured hair?
I've done some research on this. Alot of the shampoos sold that claims to be for colored hair strips the color. What you need to look at is the ingredients in the shampoo. Avoid shampoos with sodium lauryl sulfate,TEA lauryl sulfate, triethanalomine, and alkl sodium sulfate. The gentle cleansers are: sodium laureth sulfate, ammonium lauryl sulfate and ammonium laureth sulfate. What shampoo is best for coloured hair?

Vosenne
Redken or Pantene.
Tresemme!!! i have heard recently fruictus, pantenne and herbal essecnce are suppose to be terrible shampoos, because they have more chemicals in them, basically any of the shampoos used by hairdressers are better for ur hair!!!!
Redken Color Extend ... it's amazing and the only thing my stylist ever recommends for colored hair.

I use dove as it is mild %26amp; therefore doesnt damage your hair if washed frequently.
i'm very pleased with dove shampoo
You may want to get the new pantene for women of color that's what i use and it works just fine for me.
Try anything with a color protectant in it. I think all the major brands make them I know Pantene does and they even divide up into the color of your colored hair (teehee) I used the blonde kind and loved it and they make a brown kind. Now I use Avon Color proctecting shampoo...it actually does seem to make the color last a little longer!

What can i do to make my rebonding last longer apart from using rebonding shampoo ?
dont tie your hair and usually it last for about 6 months
Why are the pouring holes in hair shampoo bottles bigger than those in hair conditioner bottles?
Good question. Conditioners are more viscous than shampoo yet it's really hard to squeeze out of that smaller hole. Stop short of calling it a conspiracy but we do tend to use up more shampoo quicker while the conditioner's still half-full. And we don't mix brands do we? - well not usually, so we trudge down to the store and get another bottle of shampoo. Why are the pouring holes in hair shampoo bottles bigger than those in hair conditioner bottles?
I use ones with pumps
both are the same size and
much less fine motor skills involved to operate,
which is great when you're in the shower all wet
and slippery. Why are the pouring holes in hair shampoo bottles bigger than those in hair conditioner bottles?
You don't use as much conditioner.
1-because you use more shampoo than conditioner
2-because shampoo is thicker than conditioner
it is best to use conditioner on your ends, as opposed to your whole head like shampoo. Therefore you need less.
cause you dont need as much conditioner
i dont know
cos you use more shampoo than conditioner.
i don't care how much smaller they are i still use as much conditioner as i like

baby shampoo is especially designed for sensitive hair. what you need is strong stuff, because oily hair is serious. try head and shoulders for oily hair. yes, it exists, i use it, cause i had the same problem. and the hair looks all strong and shiny. baby shampoo is just too ';light'; for your problem
Hey ya!
My friend like to do this too, while using such shampoo hers hair become stronger but not so much.Good luck!
I use the same shampoo in the summer when I am washing hair almost every day. But I also think a baby shampoo is good for babies. The same goes for babies creams. Older skin needs proper cosmethics. But on the other hand some people in Africa never use cosmethic and look fine.
No, don't use it. When my husband was in hair school, they showed the students how you can actually give a perm using Johnson's baby shampoo as the perm solution! The reason is that its pH is way too high (very alkaline), and our skin and hair is naturally a bit acidic. They say it is 'no more tears' because there is actually a small amount of anesthetic in it, so if it gets in a baby's eyes, they just can't feel it. Also, in his years of doing hair, my husband noticed that people who used baby shampoo got SERIOUS build up of it in their hair. It doesn't rinse away clean enough, and will add to your hair's oily look/feel.
Everyone loses hair every day---100 or more hairs. This is part of the natural grow-dormant-fall cycle. If your hair is long-ish, you might notice it more simply b/c you see more hairs in the tub, in the sink, on your brush.
The best shampoo you can use isn't necessarily an expensive salon one, but even a decent drug-store brand.
it's better u use adult shampoo special for oily hair and also use some conditioner from the same brand as your shampoo, conditioner will make your hair smooth. Last time i use to use shampoo only but now since i use conditioner, it's better, and if u have time, do hair treatment once in awhile, u can go to salon or do it at home also, u can buy the product for hair treatment
won't hurt
I started using Johnson's when I had problems with hair loss occuring due to medication I was taking. To be honest I was too scared to use most other brands of shampoo and whilst browsing along the hair products section of my local supermarket I spotted good old Johnson's baby shampoo.
The packaging, uninspired clear plastic bottle, is very easy to overlook on the shelves and it's only if you have very good eyesight (you have to read the descriptive label through the actual honey coloured shampoo)that you can read the information that it can be good for adults.
I have greasy hair and I have found that using this shampoo does eliminate this particular problem to a great extent. I can't say that it leaves my hair baby soft (thank goodness) but it does leave it feeling clean and manageable. Although I do not have any perm, bleach or colour products on my own hair I do feel it would probably be kind to hair suffering from these particular treatments although a separate conditioner might be needed as well.
The 'no tears' formula could well be worth bearing in mind for those who may find themselves having to wash the hair of the elderly or infirm and for those who have sensitive eyes.
The cost is comparable to most shampoos and I would recommend that it is well worth trying.
It depends..I've got wavy.frizzy hair but i did try using baby's shampoo but it made it more dry.I suggest u really learn about your hair type n get the proper products..
You need proper hair care as well for that read some hair tips on this site

baby shampoo is especially designed for sensitive hair. what you need is strong stuff, because oily hair is serious. try head and shoulders for oily hair. yes, it exists, i use it, cause i had the same problem. and the hair looks all strong and shiny. baby shampoo is just too ';light'; for your problem
What shampoo is good for breakage?
Where I work, I have to keep my hair in a ponytail. This causes breakage and I'm getting more and more fly-aways. Ugh!!! It makes my hair frizzy! I've been using straightening balm but I have so much breakage that it only helps a little. I need a hair strengthening shampoo. Any suggestions? Thanks! What shampoo is good for breakage?
for breakage the pantene restoratives work great.
if ur going for amazing???
go to your nearest salon, or beauty store and ask if they sell REDKEN HAIR PRODUCTS.
use the anti-breakage system.
they are are the blue bottles.
they have shampoos , hair treatments , conditioners , and smoothing balms for before blow drying ect.
it works the best.
What shampoo is good for breakage?
there are tons of high end products that are great, but not always worth the money. out of the shampoos sold in places like CVS and supermarkets etc. I like tresseme. Its 32 fl. oz. for around 5 dollars (compared to 5 or up to 30 dollars for 13 fl. oz). It also has legitimate tips on the back to avoid breakage when washing. also, to help the frizz and breakage, try a hydrating leave in conditioner and/or a hair mask once or twice a week. (pantene and garnier make great hair masks, and TLC and and garnier have some great leave in conditioners)

*less breakage with daily use of shampoo, conditioner, treatment vs. non conditioning shampoo.
(That one is also good with long hair!!!)
http://www.tresemme.com/anti-breakage/products/vitamin-b12-shampoo.aspx
*Strengthens and protects against split ends and breakage for stronger hair.
There are some other good ones out there as well!
Try a Rinse with or without color that has no peroxide,it coats the hair and makes it thicker and shinier.I get compliments all the time.

What shampoo and conditioner should i use?
my hair is a little frizzy
it is blonde at the top but brown at the bottom
i uaually curl it
it looks alot like jamie lynn's i also have dandriff. What shampoo and conditioner should i use?
I would use a shampoo like Head N Shoulders, or Selsun Blue, or any other dandruff shampoo. As for conditioner, I would use anything with minimal alcohol, as this will dry out your hair.(Don't use John Freida, it has A LOT of alcohol) and something that moisturizes hair, like Pantene or Garnier Fructis(Garnier smells better, in my opinoin) Hope this helps! What shampoo and conditioner should i use?
make your own! mix some anti dandruff shampoo, color protecting shampoo (if your hair is colored, i just assumed!) and an anti-frizz shampoo. you can also do this with conditioners. i'm not sure if there are shampoos to protect against heat damage... but there are products you could use since you curl it. good luck! :)
